Winter Love knows how to give. He gave himself his own name after all, and he’s given love to many young men who later moved on with someone they wanted more. Too many. So he’s stopped putting himself out there to be hurt by the young little birds he prefers, though he does still enjoy going to the gentlemen’s club where he has a membership. He’s older, old-fashioned, eccentric, and content to be more about people watching these days.
Harley McBride is new to New York City, having left his home in Texas for a more welcoming town. He’s hard-working, friendly, and has a curious nature, which means he’s having a great time meeting people. When his roommate takes him to an interesting new club, he decides to introduce himself to a man who is fascinating to him, even from across the room.
Caught off-guard, Winter takes a chance in return, and asks Harley to let him make up Harley’s dark eyes. Things begin to heat up, and the two of them connect in ways that neither of them could have anticipated. But Winter knows he needs to tread carefully, and Harley is used to being independent and handling things on his own. Will they be able to find a path that suits them both, or will their relationship stay simply sin deep?
Sin Deep is set in The Cowboy and the Dom universe and features an opposites attract, May-December relationship.
REVIEW:
A new Jodi Payne and BA Tortuga book st in the Cowboy and the Dom universe.
Winter Love has shied away for interaction with the pretty, young boys he’s drawn to. Fast approaching the big 4-0 he is tired of the birdies fluttering off when they have had enough. Imagine his surprise when the beautiful cowboy stops by his table with a bottle of water for I’m. Even more startling is when Harley allows him to paint up his gorgeous and soulful eyes. But is he willing to take another chance this late in life?
Unfortunately this one missed the mark for me. I love both these authors and look forward to their ew releases. Something just felt off with these two men. They just didn’t connect for me. Maybe it was all the emphasis on Harley being smaller in stature but built and strong as an ox. Hard-working Harley could be trusted. That was evident immediately. But this tough Texan being done up with makeup by the guy he just met in a BDSM club just didn’t work for me.
This was a fast paced book and there was instant attraction but all the weird vibes being sent out by Winter just confused me and Harley both. I know the guy has been burned in the past but it was obvious to everyone that Harley was the real deal and willing to do most anything Winter put on the table because he was so gone for him. Maybe I just misread Harley but it just didn’t work for me. I was thankful when he actually was a bit freaked out at Ollie with his Dom.
This was a well written book and if you are into masculine men that allow them selves to be made up and put in corsets then this book might be for you. Unfortunately it fell flat for me.

When one is so critical of another’s work, shouldn’t that reviewer also take pains to be critical of their own comments? I find it impossible to give credence to a reviewer who, in the course of a few paragraphs, publishes such things as:
