TITLE: The Blindfold Date
SERIES: Pursuit of Love
AUTHOR: K.C. Carmine
PUBLISHER: Self-published
LENGTH: 287 pages
RELEASE DATE: July 9, 2022
BLURB:
A new dating app. Rules: both parties sit at a table with blindfolds on. Each can ask three questions to the other. If they don’t like the answers, they can leave. If both parties enjoy the conversation, they take the blindfold off. What can go wrong? Nothing. Unless after taking off the blindfold, you realise the other person is the last guy you expected to see.
This is exactly how Ernesto—an autistic video game programmer with a secret dominant streak, meets Brian—an easy-going ex-football player with a burgeoning desire to submit. And giving in to the demands of this lean, geeky dom may be just what Brian needs.
A standalone MM book from the contemporary Pursuit of Love series.
TW: D/S dynamics, mention of past abuse
REVIEW:
Note: This is the second book in this series, but it works completely as a standalone. There is mention of the MCs from the previous book, but if you haven’t read it, it doesn’t detract from this one.
Ernesto and Brian are two guys who meet on a rather unique dating app. The requirement is for a date where both parties are blindfolded and after three questions, decide where the date will continue. Turns out Ernesto had a crush on Brian for years when they were at uni and didn’t even know Brian was bi. Despite this very rocky start, things start go get better quickly 😉
Luckily both Brian and Ernesto are quite interested in each other. Brian’s storybook life hasn’t exactly been as rosy as it appeared to be. Ernesto has had his own issues but he’s got a job he likes and he’s now hopefully found a partner who will be equal and also fit his needs. There are interesting meetings with families, lots of sexy times and a growing romance between them that allows both men to grow.
So far I’m really enjoying this series! These guys are so adorable together – despite a sort of unusual start 🙂 I really liked how their relationship built and how Brian accepts and embraces all of Ernesto. He’s really a total sweetheart despite perhaps what might be assumed by his outward appearance. Ernesto’s personality and how he deals with his autism is sensitively written as well although he seems to be able to ignore his germ phobia with Brian at least 😉 Brian has been through some stuff and together E and Brian work through things together that help them both in making sure that their relationship is safe for them both. There is a lot of sex in this one – insta-lust but not insta-love I would say. They have a connection pretty quickly but it takes time for them to be comfortable in the relationship. Ernesto and Brian are two guys who on paper shouldn’t work, but who in reality are two puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly. I’m looking forward to more books by this author.
