It’s recommended but not essential to have read what’s come before.
What do a dragon shifter, a vampire, and a cute bobcat shifter have in common? All three are fated mates who have a very powerful politician trying to kill them.
Teagan Ryers has always only been a congressman’s son. Campaigning for his father is second nature. That changes one night when a psychic warlock implicates his future mates, whom he hasn’t met yet, in his father’s political downfall. The race is on to find a bobcat shifter and a vampire before his murderous father does.
Leaf Burkhart works hard to keep a roof over his head and food in his stomach. Life is a struggle for him and his brother, two bobcat shifters in the city, but they have each other. Everything changes when vampires kidnap them.
Etienne Mercer has coasted along for years, hoping things between him and his coven leader would rectify themselves and they’d find some common ground. When his coven leader makes a bargain with a congressman, Etienne has had enough. He must do something to save lives and the little bobcat shifter who ends up in his care.
REVIEW:
I was so happy to be back in Wingspan the spin off from the incredible Saint Lakes
series.
And boy was this a great book, it has everything action, adventure, suspense, angst and sexy times all rolled into a fast-paced storyline.
This is a menage romance between a Dragon shifter, Vampire and Bobcat shifter set amongst political intrigue, trafficking, and experimentation.
Leaf was a total joy, he is used to being the responsible one bearing the weight of the
world on his shoulders, struggling every day to get by and looking out for his younger brother Asher. Their life was grinding along not happily but they had each other and were scraping by. Then bam, they are kidnapped. Leaf is very street smart and intelligent always analyzing and looking for any angle that will help. I loved his determination to protect his brother, nothing was going to stop him help Asher not even finding his mates.
Etienne was a much harder character to understand, I shouted at the book why are you still there, what are you waiting for, you deserve so much better than this. I don’t even feel that this was a redemption arc as Etienne hadn’t done anything that needed redeeming. As I delved further into the book it all became a bit clearer. Etienne is very stoic and heroic but in a very unassuming manner, a person who blends into the background but will step forward to protect someone else.
Teagan born with a silver spoon in his mouth, to all appearances he has it all a rich and powerful family, the perfect life. Beware what hides behind closed doors and the perfect public face is very different to the private hidden one. I expected not to like Teagan a rich son of a politician but was I wrong, he is a protector of anyone weaker than himself and he realized straight away what he had to do to protect those he hadn’t yet met. To leave the life he’d always known to put himself out there to get justice for all the wrongs done by his father took great fortitude and courage. He is very honorable and determined to do the right thing even if he goes about it in the wrong way. Putting your bobcat mate in jail, is the wrong way and made me laugh. If ever there was a time to sit and talk about everything but no, two stubborn mates and a jail cell.
A Dragon, Vampire and Bobcat seem like very unlikely mates, but fate always knows what she is doing, and they work so well together as a triad. Each having something the other needs heightened by the circumstances of them meeting.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next in the series which features Asher and find out what happened to him after Leaf escaped.
