Room for Elijah
Book Description
Alternative Medicine
Prescription—a weekend at the cottage and a willing twink to go. What else can Scott, Jericho and Pascal ask for?
Scott Vernier is overburdened with his job as a professor and the logistics of maintaining two residences—his own and the home he shares with Jericho and Pascal. Is it time to consider making the final commitment and moving in?
Jericho suggests a getaway, and the trio borrow a friend’s cottage for the Canada Day summer weekend. Being in a strange setting doesn’t subdue Dr. Griffin’s ability to attend to Scott’s medical needs in the slightest. Then they meet Gerome, a young server at a local restaurant. Gerome seems intrigued by the three older men and agrees to return to the cottage to see where the evening takes them.
Let’s just say they don’t wind up playing board games.
Reader advisory: This story features partner sharing, medical kink and cum play.

We moved the rest of my things into the townhouse a couple of weeks later. I’d asked Connor to help, and he’d been very willing, since he was excited to meet my mysterious and sexy boyfriends. He brought his boyfriend, Justin, who was also in my class. Though I had been a little weirded out at first by the fact that most of my students knew about my living arrangements and my relationship with two men, I was becoming more accustomed to the idea. It was definitely very freeing to live with no secrets.
Well, strike that. I still had some secrets—and they were going to remain secrets.
The first part of the move went fairly smoothly. Luckily, Pascal and Jericho were letting me use the other spare room as my office. Most of my stuff was dumped in there. I was carrying a box behind Justin when he mistakenly pushed open the door to the other spare room and went in with the bag of miscellaneous items he was carrying.
“Oops,” he said, gazing about him in confusion, taking in the exam table and other medical items with wide eyes. “Wrong…room?”
He glanced back at me, and the heat flood my cheeks as I scrambled for something to say. Luckily, Pascal—who was behind me—quickly assessed the situation and said, “Yeah, this is my tattoo space. I do tattoos sometimes. Uh, people need a place to sit when I do tattoos. So, yeah, this is where that happens.”
I applauded his effort, but it sounded ridiculous. He was obviously covering something up.
Justin stared at the exam table and took in the supplies on the counter. “Oh. That’s cool.”
He looked like he had been fooled by what Pascal had said. He slowly backed out of the room, passing me and my reddened face as he did. But then he flashed me a weird little smile.
“What?” I asked.
“Nothing,” he muttered, disappearing down the hall and back to the rented truck. Connor came into the house carrying a couple of boxes and watched as his boyfriend walked past him and outside.
I turned back to the ‘medical office’ and noticed the sanitized enema bag on the IV hook with its tube trailing down and hooked over one of the arms.
“Ah, fuck. He knows. Goddammit.”
Pascal laughed. “Maybe not.”
“Knows what?” Connor said, as I turned to block his view and keep him from coming closer.
“This is the wrong room,” I said. “That stuff goes in the other one. You know, the one we’ve been carrying things into all morning?”
“Oh.”
He tried to look around me as I herded him away from the open door that I couldn’t shut because my arms were full of boxes. I’m not sure what my point was, because Justin was just going to tell him about the enema bag and the medical table.
For the remainder of the move, every time I found myself near Justin, my cheeks heated and I stumbled over my words. He kept giving me weird looks until, finally, he pulled me around the side of the van that everyone was unloading.
“Professor Vernier, there’s really nothing to be ashamed of.”
“Pardon?”
“If you or one of your partners has a medical condition, it’s nothing to be embarrassed about. My mom’s a nurse. I hear all kinds of things.”
I choked on my own spit. “Well…okay.”
He smiled in the most sincere and friendly way, and I felt like shit and had to come clean.
“Justin, none of us has a medical condition that needs that kind of…treatment,” I said, referring obliquely to the enema bag. I was not going to say the word ‘enema’.
“Oh. Well, that’s good.” He gave me a confused look.
“Oh my God,” I said, my voice trembling, mouth going dry. “It’s just something we like to play at… You know?” I wasn’t quite sure he did.
The emotions skittered over his face—relief, confusion, then a dawning understanding.
“Oh. Oh! Oh, shit. I’m sorry. That was a— Oh wow. That was a— Okay, like, sure… Wow. Hmm.”
I hid my eyes behind my hand. “Believe it or not, I’m not actually ashamed of what we do there…except for right at this moment. At this moment, I am very, very ashamed. I’m sorry you had to see that.”
Justin said nothing. Then he barked a laugh. “No worries, Scott. Your kinky secret’s safe with us!”
“Us? What? No, don’t tell—“
But he was already around the corner of the van.
“Connor! Connor, it’s a kinky medical play setup. Nobody’s dying,” he said with so much volume that I worried the neighbors would hear.
Pascal brought some boxes around the corner, a jovial smile on his face as he listened. “Exactly, Connor. Just some harmless kink going on in this house. Nothing more serious. Although sometimes Scott likes to pretend—”
“—that I have a crush on my doctor!” I finished loudly, glaring at Pascal. Dear God, Justin didn’t need all the details.
Pascal laughed and Justin held up his hand. “I’m only glad nobody has serious health issues.”
Then Jericho strolled by with my favorite spatula. It must have fallen out of one of the boxes.
“No, I keep Scott in excellent health with regular check-ups. Don’t you worry.”
“Oh God, kill me now,” I said.
“End-of-life procedures are not in your treatment plan, Scott.” Jericho grinned. I remembered that he loved to have me squirming with shame and embarrassment. I had no idea that it extended to when we were in public.
He turned to Connor. “I think this is the last of it. Everything’s here now. We can kick back and order some food before we drive the truck back to the rental place.”
“That sounds amazing,” Connor said, “I’m starved. This is a really cool house, by the way.”
“Thanks,” Jericho said.
He went inside and came back out with a couple of beers from the fridge. He hesitated in the act of passing them to Connor and Justin. “Are you boys of age?”
“We’re twenty, so, yes. Thank God we’re in Canada,” Connor muttered, taking the drink from Jericho.
“I never understood why the drinking age in the US was so high,” Justin said, unscrewing the top of his beer and taking a swig.
“Maybe it’s all the guns,” Pascal suggested. “Gotta keep people away from the dangerous drink so they don’t do dangerous shit with their actually dangerous shit.”
“Wow,” I said, staring at him with relief and beginning to relax and enjoy myself, now that all my secrets were…on the table. “Eloquent.”
We clinked our beer bottles and took some swigs of the cold brew.
While Jericho placed an online order for pizza, I stared at the boxes that had made their way into the living room. “I don’t know how we’re gonna fit all my shit in here. Maybe this was a bad idea.”
I didn’t actually think it was. But now that I had disrupted the overall tidy look of the place, I was having second thoughts—only about how my moving in was going to disrupt Pascal and Jericho and their long-established relationship. Not about wanting to be here.
“We’ll make it work,” Pascal assured me. “We want you here.”
He sat beside Jericho on the sofa, while Justin and Connor leaned against the fireplace mantel.
“And that means we need to make room for you.”
I rubbed my chin. “I didn’t realize I needed quite so much space.”
“Scott, stop worrying. It’s not good for your…health,” Jericho said, giving me a very obvious once-over and causing both Justin and Connor to giggle.
And I found myself laughing.
