September 1st: Virgo: Your desire to please too many people will put you at risk of disappointing them all. Be honest about your feelings, but also don’t forget that you have something to offer that no one else can. Even if you don’t know it yet. When the studious and anti-social Jasper Monte got accepted into Graves Academy, his future was so bright it was blinding. Up until graduation requirements forced him to join a club and make friends. As an Astronomy major, the Astrology Club was a no brainer, even if Professor Chase King is as insufferable as he is hot. Jasper’s draw towards his teacher is all not-so-innocent fun and games until he
stumbles upon Chase on the night of the full moon, and he watches him
shift into the body of the Capricorn. Chase can’t control the way his primal lust seeks out the young Virgo when he’s in his shifter form. But the more time he spends with Jasper,
the more he discovers that his curious student might also be the cure to his Zodiac Werewolf curse. The werewolves of the legends were nothing like this. When every month threatens a different transformation, will Jasper be willing to accept the risks that being with the professor entails? This is a sexy and dark Romance of a once innocent college boy and his dangerous shifter alpha professor. Each installment features a different Zodiac Sign transformation and creative ways to use it! If you enjoyed the steam of Fifty Shades of Grey, the hot and dangerous Werewolves of The Vampire Diaries, and love Male Male Romance, you’ll love the Zodiac
Werewolf!
REVIEW:
I started this book not knowing what to expect, with my head full of traditional werewolf shifting and puzzled how the zodiac element would fit in. However, after a bit of a slow start, the book picks up the pace and the complexity of the relationships become central to the plot. I really loved the descriptions of the Zodiac and how they are embodied by the shifter. It was totally fascinating to me that not only did Chase shift into the embodiment of the Zodiac but every month he became a different star sign, with different characteristics and different physical attributes. I found all the zodiac descriptions interesting and shifting into them puts a totally different spin on traditional werewolf mythology. If you’ve ever wondered what a star sign would look like and how they would act in accordance with the rules that govern them, then look no further.
Then add in the forbidden teacher/student relationship, the dominance of Chase and the naivety of Jasper, the fear of discovery adds extra steam to already steamy scenes. I enjoyed the angst and confusion that Jasper endures as he goes on his journey of self-discovery and what being with a Zodiac Shifter truly means. In many ways this was Jasper’s journey with lots of twists and turns and so much confusion and anxiety.
When he meets Nate the plot thickens, is he a friend, friends with benefits, a shifter, a human, mates, all, none or some of them. The jealousy between Chase and Nate and how those morphs into competition between them which sparks something else was very entertaining. It did give me a bit of anxiety as I really wanted Chase and Jasper to get their Happy Ever After but by the end of the book, I was happy with the outcome.
All the characters are interesting and well thought out, it’s nice to see them develop over the book changing with every challenge they encountered and as they figure out what it all means to them.
I recommend this book if you want a dark and steamy paranormal that is different to the norm.
