Alex
I’m the starting quarterback for the Portland Pirates, and I have a thing for my son’s teacher. Except I didn’t know the cute blond on the beach with the giant dog was, in fact, my kid’s teacher until two months later at Open House.
Christian took my breath away during the second week of my two-week vacation at the beach and introduced me to things I never knew could feel so good and be so right. I think he just might be the one who inspires me to tell the world that this NFL quarterback is bisexual and in love with a man.
That is until I blew the best thing to happen to me since my kids were born. All I know is I have to get him back. I had to find a way to keep him.
Christian
I never imagined I would meet the love of my life while being bowled over on the beach by the overeager Newfoundland I was dog-sitting. But that’s exactly how I ended up on my back in the sand, wrapped in his arms and pressed into the sand by the six-foot-five dark-haired Adonis on the beach. Did I mention he had two beautiful children?
Our week together was worthy of a sexy modern-day fairytale full of promises about the future until he sent me the text that broke my heart. And how was I supposed to get over him when his adorable six-year-old son was in my class?
Find out how Alex and Christian ache to overcome some daunting complications to reunite in The Quarterback Keeper, Book One of The Package Deal Series.

REVIEW:
This is the first book in a new sport series. Alex is a quarterback for the professional team in Portland, OR. He is on a break at the coast with his kids for a week and then he’s got a week alone. Christian is a teacher who is house/dog sitting for his aunt and uncle in the house next door. There is a serious meet cute with the dogs 🙂 Once the kids have gone with their mother, Christian and Alex begin spending all their time together. Alex is so happy that Christian doesn’t know who he is so he can get to know him without his celebrity getting in the way. He also confesses his bisexuality right away and Christian is intrigued because he is seriously attracted. Luckily that goes both ways 🙂 There is definitely insta-lust that turns into instalove pretty quickly.
When they have to return to their regularly scheduled lives things get a bit more messy 😉 Particularly since Alex’s child is at Christian’s new school, there is unexpected overlap. Then there is of course the little issue of Alex not being out. There are quite a few obstacles for them to overcome if they truly want to be together.
So I’m recommending this with some reservations. I didn’t love the ex-wife character. Alex’s inner monologue got on my nerves at times as well. I did think Christian was a sweetheart and I found the instalust believable. And not everyone knows what every football player looks like so I found that part believable. I would have liked Alex to have to work a bit harder for Christian’s forgiveness when he screwed up, but they really were miserable so maybe a quick reconciliation was in order. Overall, I enjoyed the story with a few niggles. I am definitely interested in the next book which was set up in this book. I’m kind of a sucker for sports romances, so that did go a long way with me on this one.
