Make Music Together by Ariella Zoelle
Harmony of Hearts, Book 2
Sparks fly when Noctis meets his new neighbor. But will their shower duets lead to true love?
Noctis Ralston
How odd am I? I’m a “fall in love with my new neighbor before I’ve formally met him” level of awkward aardvark. But in my defense, this mystery man has a golden voice that gives me chills even in the hottest of showers, thanks to our thin apartment walls. I’d love to be bold enough to introduce myself, but since I have the self-confidence of a dull doorknob, that’s not happening.
My life changes forever when I unexpectedly meet my neighbor at an open mic night. Not only is Levi nice, but holy frickenfrack, he’s a “make me forget the entirety of the English language” type of gorgeous. And for some inexplicable reason, he seems interested in me, despite the fact the only “relationship” I’ve ever had is with my right-hand man, if you know what I mean.
Can I be brave enough to let him introduce me to a whole new world of lace, love, and learning how to embrace my uniqueness?
Levi Benowitz
As a rock star drummer for one of the most famous musicians in the world, music is my whole life. Even though I’ve never seen my neighbor’s face, the sound of our voices blending together in harmony gives me indescribable pleasures. I ache to be with the man who completes the melodies of my heart.
When I’m finally lucky enough to meet Noctis, he utterly captivates me. He is unabashedly himself, honest to a fault, has a wonderfully colorful vocabulary, and is so cute that my little crush on him turns into full-blown love. Everything about him is irresistible to me.
I’m ready for our happily ever after, so how can I convince him that I seriously want to be with him?
Make Music Together is the second book in the Harmony of Hearts series and part of the Sunnyside universe. This novel features a guy next door, insta love, rock star, first time, opposites attract, gay romance. If you love cute sweetness, sexy fun, and no angst stories that will make you laugh and swoon, you’ll enjoy this satisfying HEA without cliffhangers. Each book can be read as a standalone or as part of the series in order.

Chapter 3: Levi Benowitz
It took him several tries to get out words in his flustered state. “It’s you.” His blue eyes looked me over with amazement. “So, this is what you look like with clothes on. Usually, you’re wet and naked when I think about you, but—” A nervous squeak escaped him when he realized what he said. “Shit, sorry, that came out wrong. Uh…I mean…um, hi. Just hi. Yeah.”
It was so absurd I had to laugh. “That’s quite the hello.”
“Oh, thank god, you didn’t run away screaming.” He melted with relief. “Sorry, it’s just—you’re Six.” He breathed the word with a reverence I didn’t understand.
“You’re a little off. I’m actually thirty-five.”
He shook his head. “No, you’re my neighbor who lives in apartment 6, so that’s what I call you because we’ve never met before.”
I blinked in shock. Could he seriously be my shower duet neighbor? “You’re Vivace?”
It was his turn to be confused. “Is that like vivacious or something?”
I laughed. “No, it’s the musical term for a very fast and lively tempo. It’s what I associate with you, so that’s how I refer to you, since I don’t know your name.”
It was adorable how he scrunched up his nose. “Oh, that’s so much cooler than my unoriginal name.”
“I wouldn’t say that. Six sounds pretty badass.”
“It also sounds like ‘sex,’” he muttered under his breath, making me laugh when he coughed to cover it up.
I held my hand out to him. “I’m Levi Benowitz. It’s nice to finally put a face to your beautiful voice.”
He shook my hand with a bashful expression. “I’m Noctis Ralston. Sorry for being too socially awkward to introduce myself until now.”
Since he seemed like the overly honest type, I figured I’d try it. “I never came over because I worried I’d weird you out if I told you singing duets together was always the highlight of my day.”
His mouth dropped open in an O of shock. “Are you joking? You can’t possibly mean me.”
“Why not?”
He gestured at me while making sounds of protest. “Look at you! Then look at me. That should answer your question about why it isn’t possible for someone as amazing as you to feel that way about a weirdo like me.”
“I was afraid if I told you how much I love doing duets with you, you’d stop singing with me.”
He snorted. “A guy like you would never be afraid of me.”
“Afraid of losing you. That’s different.”
His eyes fluttered in disbelief. “Whoa, careful there, buddy. That almost sounded romantic.”
I grinned at him. “In a way, it was. I love singing with you.”
He held up his hand to stop me. “Please use your powers of charm only for good, sir. Us mere mortals can’t survive.”
His reaction made me want to tease him. “Are you implying I have nefarious purposes in telling you that singing duets with you is an extremely pleasurable experience for me?”
“No, but I’m warning you that my heart is a dumbass and I live in the gutter. Everything sounds sexually slanted and puts me in danger of falling in love with you. So, unless you want me to get the wrong idea about you jerking off while listening to me sing, please keep that in mind.”
His lack of a filter was a refreshing change of pace. It brought out my playful side. “What if that’s the right idea, though?”
