When Kyle agreed to spend Christmas in England with family and friends, he didn’t expect to meet Jon, the attractive and sexy cousin of his dad’s boyfriend’s BFF. But that’s exactly what happened.
A brief hook-up in England quickly turned into texts, calls, several video chats, and even a weekend together in New Mexico. Now, four months after their fateful meeting at Christmas, Jon is coming to visit Kyle in DC.
Kyle is very excited with the prospect of spending more time with Jon but planning a fun—and romantic—time with Jon is only half the battle. Eventually Kyle will need to tell his dad—who may have issues with the fact that Jon is thirteen years older than Kyle.
Sightseeing, a river cruise on the Potomac, figuring out how to broach the subject of an older man with Dad, and gathering support wherever he can, Kyle is doing everything he can to find love on the Potomac.
REVIEW:
I love this series from relative new author RJ Peterson.
This is the third book in this series and these books should be read in order, as each book builds on the previous one.
In this book we get Kyle and Jon’s story. Their relationship was hinted at in the second book in this series and I have been eagerly anticipating this one. Kyle is the son of one of the main characters from the first two books and Jon is a family friend, that met during the family Christmas. Many people may find it funny that I call this type of story a palate cleanser. But I read a variety of books and sometimes, in order to cure the book hangover, I need a sweet romance like this one.
I fell in love with RJ’s characters from his first book and my love for these sweet low angst characters has only grown. RJ has created a world of romance, not over the top, but based in a world that actually exists. I have found his stories to be sweet, cozy romances, with some sexy times sprinkled in between. Not that I don’t enjoy some hot steamy sexy times – but I appreciate a great plot driven story just as much.
In this book, we pick up on the vibes that Kyle and Jon had been dancing around when they met at the family Christmas held in England. As they get to know each other, they must make some serious decisions for their relationship to progress further.
I especially appreciate the complexities of a long-distance relationship, that Kyle and Jon experience. With the worldbuilding RJ is doing with this series, I found it almost impossible to put the story down and get some sleep.
It hooked me from the first page and kept me intrigued to the last page. If you enjoy sweet cozy romance stories, then this series and this book in particular is for you.
As I finished this fantastic and well written story, I’m extremely excited for the next book in this series.
Keep them coming RJ Peterson, I’m becoming addicted to your stories.
