True love is on the horizon, Sagittarius. It’s a good time to step out of your routine and into the unknown.
Jason Lyall wants someone to come home to, someone he can be his most ridiculous self with. Someone who loves him regardless. But no matter how hard he tries, he can never quite make that connection, and now his last girlfriend has moved on—she’s engaged.
So when his identical twin begs him to swap lives for a few weeks, Jason can see the appeal. Suddenly he’s living another life in a tiny Australian town, contending with weird, wild, and wonderful things the likes of which he’s never encountered before. Like spiders. Like snakes.
Like his new neighbour, Sergeant Owen Stirling, who is all kinds of . . . suspicious.
Prepare to be caught in a merry mix-up, Libra. It’s a dance of side-stepping and seduction.

REVIEW:
Jason is a professional pianist who is a bit down. His last girlfriend is now engaged and he’s feeling a bit lost. He’s lonely and he needs a change. It’s serendipitous that his identical twin brother shows up and needs a pretty big favor. He wants Jason to take his place in this small Tasmanian home town for a few weeks leading up to the wedding of his ex and his new boyfriend. Here’s the catch. He’s the best man and he just can’t handle watching Pete get married. Given where Jason is in his life, he decides he doesn’t have anything to lose – he’s between gigs and doesn’t have a performance for a month.
Jason is immediately thrown off by Carl’s house and his neighbor, Owen Stirling. Seems that he and Carl have not been close – except when Owen pulls over Carl for speeding 🙂 However, it’s clear that Owen hasn’t been fooled. Jason of course spills the beans and Owen agrees to keep his secret and help him. But there is definitely a spark. And Jason is KILLING Owen with his unintentional double entendres. But it’s clear that there is something between them, even if Jason doesn’t realize what is happening. LOL!
Then there is the issue of the family that Jason has never met before He was adopted while his twin stayed with his birth family, but with a twist. Jason is worried about hurting anyone when the truth comes out, which of course it inevitably does. Owen’s family and Jason/Carl’s family are wonderful and Jason really worries about the fallout for everyone. Owen’s ex who broke his heart is also a wild card here when he keeps turning up like a bad penny. Jason worries that he won’t be enough for Owen and that relationship does have a time limit after all 🙁
I had forgotten just how much I loved this series. This was one of the most fun books I’ve read in a while. I was literally laughing out loud repeatedly at Jason. He was so clueless and the stuff that came out of his mouth was jaw-droppingly entertaining. Owen really was the perfect man for him even if it took Jason a while to figure that out 🙂 Jason trying to fit into Carl’s life was hilarious from the time he got to Carl’s house. The trials and tribulations of Australian wildlife made for some fun times as well. Owen saves Jason repeatedly, but in the end it’s Jason who saves Owen by being the love of his life. Owen and Jason are perfect together despite Jason’s worry that things are on a finite timeline.
It must be kismet that I read two books with professional pianists as MCs and they were both such wonderful reads. I’m not sure that I have the words to convey how much I loved the evolution of this couple’s relationship and Jason’s very very slow realization that Owen Stirling is THE one for him. This slow burn, gay awakening, hilarious, sweet, love story is one of the best I’ve read this year. Highly recommended! I can’t stop smiling about these two 😀
