BLURB:
Five years ago, wolf shifter Dr. Rohan Holt saved his fated mate from scandal by disappearing. Haunted by grief and guilt, he believes he’ll never see his human student, Mars McCauley, again… Until Mars stumbles into small town Darlington with a career-ending injury.
Caring for the pro athlete is Rohan’s purpose, and there’s only one way to rescue the omega—triggering an unrelenting heat, giving him a bloody claiming bite, and turning him into a wolf shifter. But bonding with Mars and losing him again is an agony the doctor can’t survive.
Mars is just as desperate for a future with Rohan, the man he’s been searching for since college. The only alpha he’s ever wanted to mate with. But Mars has a championship to win and his public persona has no room for a handsome older husband. And raising a litter of pups is out of the question until he finishes the season.
Spicy phone calls and weekend visits make their secret long-distance relationship bearable until a stalker threatens to expose their age-gap romance. Hiding is too much like their college days, and Mars is torn between safety and happiness. Is their bond truly unbreakable? Or will scandal destroy their relationship again?
Rohan Rekindled is the third book in the Darlington Pack series. It can be read as a standalone novel, but it expands on storylines and characters introduced in earlier books. The first portion of Rohan Rekindled runs parallel to Book 2: Atlas’s Accident, but it is an independent story.
This book features an age-gap second chance romance, long-distance yearning, first shift cuteness, locker room hijinks, close-knit pack dynamics, more pups than Darlington has ever seen. And a guaranteed happily ever after.
REVIEW:
I have found my home with this pack. Darlington calls of a quiet, more peaceful life…if those darn bears would just stay where they belong! At least the bad ones!
Rohan Holt has been taking care of everyone’s needs since he first arrived in Darlington five years ago. The older, wiser doctor was the perfect addition to their pack. They knew he had history and seemed to be running for something new. Or was it away from something old??? When David, Pack Alpha’s Atlas’s human fated mate and his childhood best friend, Professional Basketball Star Mars McCauley, decide to go camping little did they know that stopping in these woods would lead to Mars finally getting answers to what happened to his college lover. Rohan knows there is only one way to save his ex-lover’s illustrious career. He has to finally claim him and turn him into a shifter so he can heal his badly torn ACL. But there’s a catch becauseRohan has always known the Mars was his fated mate. It almost broke him when he had to leave suddenly to protect Mars from scandal and ruin his chances of a profession career. But can an Alpha wolf shifter preform a claiming bite on his fated mate and then turn him away for his own good without crushing their hearts???
I loved these men. Rohan was always doing what was best for everyone else at his own expense. But he would do anything for Mars. Mares was his love of his life and his fated mate. But Mars was a human omega and destined to greatness. So Rohan had left to protect him, crushing his own hopes and his heart. I was worried when Mars headed back to basketball. These two needed to be together. And his best friend mating with Atlas was the icing that sealed it. Mars needed to be with Rohan and he need to to be his mate. His need now outshining his career. It’s funny that, when you are young, you think you know just what you want but when something as special as a fated mate is jerked away you learn that some things are more precious than fame and stardom on the courts.
I am enjoying to get more of the back stories of both Rohan and Leo. The pack is growing with human fated mates that turn with their claiming bite and then their new pups are helping to build up the pack too. I’m not surprised that Mars outdid everyone. Let’s face it, he’s a star that shines at all times.
I am looking forward to Leo and Quentin story next. The lonely widower that provides the law enforcement for the ack, his rambunctious twin daughter’s Lyra and Ada, and the mysterious Quentin, that seems to be in danger. What does the West Lion group want???
