Toby thinks he’s irritating. I think he’s a breath of fresh air.
Toby’s family has made sure he knows what a screw-up he is at every turn. Too fidgety, too touchy, just too much. He’s given up hope of finding what he wants in search of the only kind of Daddy he thinks will be able to tolerate him, a patient one.
Daddy Samuel is a patient man, but that has nothing to do with why he wants his daughter’s closest friend as his own. To him, Toby’s quirks are part of his charm.
Will he be able to convince the younger man how brave he is facing the world as his true self regardless of the negative voices in his head telling him he’s broken?
Welcome back to The Tap Tavern where there’s booty-shaking in the kitchen, cuddling on the couch, and sometimes a boy just needs a little help to get out of his head.
REVIEW:
I love Sammi Cee books and am really loving this new series 💕
Toby is one of the boys that work at The Tap Tavern for Christian. He is the one that decided that putting up a a sign on the bulletin board at the tavern advertising for a Daddy was the was to find the right man for his found family brothers. It worked out really well for Joey and he knew the others weren’t ready yet so he decided to make himself a part of the experiment. He just needed a Patient Daddy to help him find his way and calm his active mind. When his bestie Melissa decides that her dad needs cooking lessons, now that he’s going to be an empty nester, she arranges for Toby to be the one to do it. After all, he was one of the brightest and best chefs to graduate from the program she worked at and he needs the experience to push him to start his own company catering like he dreams of. When Samuel can’t keep the enchanting boy, with the perfect bubble butt that can’t stay still, out of his head he can’t believe when Cameron drops the ad in his lap. Is their age difference and Toby’s friendship with Melissa too much or can a Patient Daddy and his Enchanting Boy make a relationship work?
I loved the build up of the best friend’s father and the rambunctious chef story. These two were made for each other. Samuel needed someone to nurture and love on and Toby needed to realize that he wasn’t what his parent’s kept putting him down as…a disappointment and loser. He was a bright, successful young man that had caring people surrounding him if he could just get loose of his controlling and manipulative parents. No not parents, since they never deserved that title, but life donors, as Mrs. Wilcox so appropriately named them.
I love how these young men at the tavern are there for each other and have formed a caring family for each other. They will do anything possible so that they each get the Daddy that they want and deserve. And each sweet boy is unique and his needs are different from the others. Joey needed a gentle Daddy. Toby needed a Patient (and cuddly) Daddy. And next, Dylan needs an Understanding Daddy. Each of the boys working at The Tap Tavern are finding true love one at a time in their own unique and special way. And I can’t wait for the next story. Great series that is bound to steal your heart.
