Wyatt and Grant are not allowed to want each other.
Wyatt is barely eighteen and Grant is his dad’s best friend.
With only two months until his first semester of college takes him across the country, Wyatt has little more on his mind than exploring his newfound interest in men. He has a list of things he wants to experience, but he doesn’t know where to start. At least not until he finds himself alone with the one man he shouldn’t want.
Grant knows better than to get involved with his best friends son, but Wyatt knows how to be persuasive and he looks like everything Grant has ever wanted when he’s on his knees. Grant hoped he’d kept his thoughts to himself, but Wyatt approaches him with a list and a proposition he doesn’t want to turn down.
Nothing between them is certain, but one thing is promised. It’s going to be a summer neither man will ever forget.
Not Allowed is part one of Grant and Wyatt’s story and book one in the Not Ready for Love trilogy. This 50,000 word story is a cliffhanger, but the completion of this series will bring them their HEA.
REVIEW:
A great start to what appears to be a riveting and exciting series.
Wyatt is 18 and off to college in two short months. His parents had him when they were barely his age and divorced before he was a year old. With him living over 2 hours away it made growing a relationship difficult so, by the time he was 13, he stopped going all together. Sure there were birthdays and Christmas but Adam barely knew his son and vice versa. Now his mom and her husband Clark have sold his childhood home and are off on the adventure of a lifetime sailing in their new boat. So, for the first time in 5 years Wyatt is off to live with his dad, who is practically a stranger.
Adam has barely known his son for the last 5 years but is finally getting the opportunity to spend time with him before he heads off to college. But he has a big problem. His best friend/next door neighbor Grant just discovered his boyfriend of the last year in the bathroom giving some stranger a blow job at the weekly sex party at their friend Devon’s house. He’s now worried about Grant and how to proceed when Wyatt gets there tomorrow. But Adam has a pretty busy life and asks if Grant can help out by showing Wyatt around town. Little does Adam know that he is pouring gasoline on the fire by having those two together.
I questioned at first the sanity of Grant going along with Wyatt’s proposition. Who in their right mind agrees to letting their best friend’s 18 year old son explore his newly found bisexuality with them. And this man is supposed to be a dominant. And I know that both are totally attracted to each other and the chemistry is off the charts, but still, there was no way for this to end but badly. Both were in over their heads and bound to get hurt. There was no way around that. And it was obvious that feelings were coming into play.
The one character I didn’t connect with was Adam. He is finally getting the chance to connect and form a bond with his grown son that he didn’t get for years but he keeps running off to get a little with his boyfriend who is Wyatt’s boss! And he is supposedly worried about his best friend but he keeps throwing his son at him like he’s Grant’s responsibility not his. And while we are at it, if he really had wanted to be there for Wyatt two hours isn’t that long of a drive at least once a month to stay connected to your only child. I get that he was literally a child himself when Wyatt was born but it sounded like he just got left out after awhile.
This book is a cliffhanger. I know that Adam and Cooper’s story is out next month and then we get the conclusion to Grant and Wyatt’s story after Wyatt is done with school. I am eager to see if Adam can redeem himself to me and what is up with him and Cooper. It was hinted that Adam is into BDSM at least a bit so that should be interesting. But I can’t wait to get Grant and Wyatt’s promised HEA in July! Great start to what is sure to be a fantastic and heat-filled series!
