Daren debated leaving on his underwear and just removing them when he redressed in his warm, dry clothes later, but at the last moment, he tore them off too.
Lilo tilted his head like he always did when curious about something, not averting his eyes from Daren’s nakedness in the slightest. Daren wondered if the expression on that bluish-purple face was curiosity, familiarity, interest, or all three.
Daren couldn’t exactly point at his dick and ask, “So what’s yours look like?”
Well, he could, but he wasn’t going to.
Daren took a breath and leapt into the water. It was freezing. Not like instant hypothermia cold, but a few minutes would be plenty to leave him shivering and in danger of worse. He resurfaced with a gasp and nearly fell back beneath from sheer shock.
“Close,” Lilo said again, floating up to him, near enough that Daren immediately felt the smooth tickle and then wrap of tentacles coiling around him. “Lilo show. Breath?”
“Uh…” Daren was gasping from how cold it was, but who else had ever gotten the chance to be shown some secret grotto in the ocean by a mythical creature? “Hold my breath. Got it.” With a nod, Daren took a deep gulp of air, and as soon as his mouth closed, water rushed up over him, as he was dragged under by the tentacles and yanked onward.
Lilo moved so fast. Keeping ahead of a motorboat was clearly only a fraction of his actual speed. Daren could barely register how many tentacles were around him, though he also felt Lilo’s arms wrapped around his waist to keep him close.
Daren tried not to panic at how he had no idea when they would surface again or whether he could hold his breath for as long as Lilo thought, but just when he was starting to get worried and was about to struggle, the water turned warm—blessedly, wonderfully warm—and they reached air.
Daren wheezed. It hadn’t been that long, he could have held his breath longer, but it was still a relief.
And also very, very dark where they had reemerged.
Except for Lilo, who was glowing.
He was bioluminescent!
The sight was incredible, and cast just enough light that, after a moment, Daren could see they were in some sort of cave, and patches on the walls were also glowing. There must be a hyperthermal vent below because this place was a natural hot spring, as warm as a perfectly set hot tub.
Lilo’s tentacles wrapped around every part of Daren to keep him afloat, so Daren had to spare no effort at all, just relaxed and enjoyed the water, the contact, and the sight of Lilo shining with light and color.
“Warm?” Lilo asked, his voice echoing in the cave.
“Yeah. It’s warm enough. It’s amazing. You’re amazing. You’re… beautiful.” He reached for Lilo’s face, which he hadn’t ever touched other than when they kissed.
“Daren beautiful,” Lilo said. His usually black eyes glowed with luminescence too, green-blue-purple all in one, and Daren was suddenly very aware of being naked and wrapped up close against nothing but silky skin.
