Avi Mulvaney is many things. Son. Twin. Owner of the fashion label, Gemini. Murderous psychopath. Together, he and his brother, Asa, make one brutally efficient monster, ridding the world of predators who victimize the innocent. History proves Avi and Asa don’t do well apart, but their father has decided to test that theory.
Felix Navarro knows exactly who he is. Baby brother. Fashionista. Vigilante. While he’s not happy that his big brother married a Mulvaney, the union has its perks. Like a paid internship with Gemini. But all good things come with a cost and, for Felix, that’s enduring Avi Mulvaney each day, which inevitably leads to thinking about him every night.
Felix doesn’t like Avi. He’s cocky, condescending, overbearing, and inappropriate. He’s also sexy, brilliant, and twice as lethal as Felix. Still, Felix loathes him. Even if he keeps letting him kiss him. And touch him. Even if he slipped just once. It was still hate sex, and it would never happen again. Ever.
Except, Avi’s being sent to help take down a dangerous crime ring and he’s ordered Felix to come along. Felix has vowed to stay strong. To remember he hates Avi. But they’re trapped together and there’s only one bed, and it’s so hard to hate Avi in the dark when he’s whispering how Felix belongs to him. Felix belongs to no man, but Avi is determined. He has one week to prove to Felix that he’s the exception to his rule. After all, who says no to a Mulvaney?
Mad Man is a scorchingly hot, intense, enemies to lovers, psychopath romance with an HEA and no cliffhangers. It features a dirty talking, brutally vicious killer and a sharp tongued murderous fashionista who are both too stubborn for their own good. As always, there’s gratuitous violence, very dark humor, enough blood to film the final scene in the movie Carrie, and enough heat to melt your panties. This is book five in the Necessary Evils series. Each book follows a different couple.
REVIEW:
Welcome back to the Mulvaney family, this story is about Avi, Asa’s twin. Ava is the owner of Gemini fashion label. Avi is just like all the members of the family a psychopath, a deadly one.
Felix looks down his nose at Avi, as if he owns the place instead of being the intern at Gemini.
He hates Avi and what he stands for, why does he has to be so sexy. Why the hell keeps Felix giving in to being kissed or touched by Avi. Ugh, he hates himself for it.
Fragile like a hand grenade! Yup, that’s Felix. Avi doesn’t know how to handle him. Why is he always mad? If Avi only knew how Felix really felt, possessive, afraid to lose his mind uhh heart over Avi.
Felix wants to keep it from breaking. Avi will soon realize Felix is no good. Avi is getting crazy, how can he convince his kitten they belong together.
There are several hot scenes that I watched in awe, but there’s one… oh my freaking goodness!
Thomas orders Avi to handle a job, he has to leave his brother behind. Avi and Asa aren’t doing well being apart, they are so balanced together. Avi takes Felix with him, it’s a good distraction.
There’s a circle of people who has to be destroyed.
“Hate sex is the best of all the sex, no?”
It’s hard to resist a guy who can’t keep his hands and mouth off you, Avi likes to play with Felix.
Felix is lethal and great with knives, watch him!. You could forget the psychopathic side of Avi, because he’s so sweet, well, until he talks about rather being stabbed or shoot instead of handling emotions.
The difference between Avi’s psychopath mind and Felix’s is awesome to watch. Imagine a killer, ruthless, getting confused by all the emotions coming from Felix, because dang, he’s super emotional.
The family together for the grand act was marvelous, it showed how vicious and efficient they are.
The plot was well thought out. Felix and Avi were great together, maybe a bit less spectacular than Zane and Asa, but still. Felix barking at Avi, Avi accepting everything Felix said or did, worshipped the ground he walked. It was a crazy, fun, humorous, hot, murderous read, clear and strong written.
Again an awesome scorching story, you will sympathize with gossiping psychopaths and their horrible deeds, because you can’t just not.

USA Today bestselling author Nora Phoenix continues the contemporary gay romance series The Foster Brothers with Hadley, who falls for the worst guy possible: his grumpy billionaire boss.
Sebastian LeClerc is richer than Midas. He’s also a grumpy a**hole, a playboy, and the world’s worst boss. At least, according to Hadley, who was crazy enough to take the job as Sebastian’s PA.
Big mistake. Huge.
Sebastian may look like Richard Gere, but he’s nowhere near that charming. Everyone cowers and seeks cover when he’s in the room. Hadley can’t believe Sebastian’s really that bad and that there has to be a reason for his bad attitude, but he seems to be the only one.
Except Sebastian does seem to appreciate Hadley, calling him his sunshine. And when something nice comes out of his mouth on occasion, Hadley’s heart is all aflutter.
Oh no.
It can’t be.
Has Hadley fallen for his boss?
Hired is the second book in The Foster Brother series, a contemporary MM romance series about four men who chose to be brothers that can be read as stand alones. It has a grumpy billionaire boss, a sunshiney assistant, falling for the boss, hella hot chemistry, and a sweet guy who soaks up praise like a dying plant.
REVIEW:
Wow! Just Wow! What a winner this book and series are!
Hadley Foster had a very rough start at life. Druggie parents that had no business ever being parents with the neglect that he suffered. But his found brothers (the only family that has counted in his short life) have helped and supported him and he has managed to get through life. Their love and support mean the world to him. Now a very successful PA, Hadley can support and organize any business executive. However his works is really cut out for him when he fills in for a fellow employee with Sebastian LeClerc! Sebastian has been through twenty-two assistants in the last two years. Between his grumpy demeanor and being over worked he has no time for these people. When the talented sunshine of an assistant that can take his attitude and dish right back enters his world life starts to get a bit better. When the attraction to each other gets to be too much though what’s next? Can two commitment phobes have a working and friends with benefits relationship?
I loved how both men, though polar opposites, worked so well together and things got done. Both men were very dedicated to their careers and did their best. But their personalities bloomed as did their trust as they learned to not only work together but to trust and lean on each other.
Author Nora Phoenix wove a well constructed story of two out and proud men that thought they knew what they liked and wanted until what they truly needed was right in front of them. Their personalities really did compliment and complete the other. And watching them learn to trust and grow together was wonderful. But the best part was watching them fall for each other. It was obvious to everyone surrounding them that truly cared but they were painfully slow on the uptake. But oh wow when they did.
This book warmed my heart. Watching both men was a treat right when I really needed one. I highly recommend this book and series but really suggest that you start with book one (Jaren’s story) first. You won’t be sorry. Now I can’t wait for Hadley’s brother/roommate Lagan’s story!!! But the one I’m holding my breath for is Nordin’s! Who the heck is he really? And what does he really do?
