Death of the Moon is book one of the Secrets of the Moon trilogy, an 83k word M/M Paranormal Crime/Mystery Romance, with an HFN ending. While there is a complete story arc in this book, there are plot threads that will carry on throughout the trilogy. There are language and explicit intimate scenes not suitable for readers under the age of 18. Warnings: MC with PTSD, past torture implied through flashbacks, dealing with grief.

Halfway to the bed, Alec stopped and tilted his head. Damien’s heart rate had picked up. And this was the second time he’d rubbed his hands on his boxers. The detective that Alec had become so fond of was unusually nervous.
AeroPress in hand, Alec returned to the kitchen. He set it down on the counter before grabbing Damien’s bare shoulders and turning him until his back was against the counter. Alec cupped Damien’s face in his hands and cocked an eyebrow.
“That obvious, huh?”
“Your heart is racing. Your palms are sweaty … You’re either sick or nervous about something, and I don’t detect illness in your scent.” Alec dipped his head and lowered his voice. “Werewolf, remember?”
That startled a laugh out of Damien. “Human lie detector, eh? I’ll keep that in mind. Sorry, I’ve been putting this off, and at this point, I feel like you’re going to be pissed that I didn’t say something as soon as I was sure.”
That didn’t bode well.
Alec leaned against one of the kitchen pillars while Damien gathered his thoughts and pressed the cold brew into cups for them. He forced his mind to clear—thinking too hard and getting worked up before Damien could even speak would definitely lead to an emotional reaction. The man had taken everything Alec had told him yesterday in stride. The least Alec could do was to keep an open mind in return.
Damien sighed and handed Alec a cup of coffee. “I feel like I need to preface this. Before yesterday, I didn’t think you’d believe me, and I didn’t know how to bring it up.”
Lacing his fingers with Damien’s, Alec led them over to the couch. This was probably a conversation they should have while sitting down. “You’re stalling.”
“I know. I know.” Damien groaned and set his coffee down.
