The first Christmas is always special…
William Wallace is a nerd. Friendless, alone, and focused on his studies. Now he’s training to join the police force, the last thing he expects is to find someone who actually wants to spend Christmas with him. Anything is better than another year around the table with Ambassadors and politicians, with formal talk and wine.
Julius Rakktersen is a rockstar. He doesn’t have to take anything seriously, because he knows he can get away with it. But the trouble is, he can’t trust that anyone actually likes him for himself – and not just because of his father’s name. This year, things might be different. Anything would be better than facing his father over turkey and sprouts.
Join the boys for a Christmas interlude in this novella, set years before Bloodless – soon after they first met in training. With no crimes or cases, get to know them – and their feelings for each other – a bit better before jumping back into the action. And look out for a special appearance from another old friend…
REVIEW:
This was a good little story. There’s no mystery in it or anything major. This is kind of an intro into how Will and Ram and even Alex all meet and the story behind how it all starts with them.
The only thing I miss with this story was that Will wasn’t sick. Nothing bad had really happened. Well, something has happened with Will and it’s not always easy being in the household he was in and such, but the bad, bad has come yet with he and Will. And even though he’s still shy and introverted, he’s him. He’s healthy and thriving, for him. With Ram, I’m so glad he met Will because Will has done him a WHOLE world of good. It may have taken a while for them to get to where they are in their relationship, but good and bad, they are trying to be the best them they can be. And considering what they’ve been through and what I know is coming, that’s saying a lot.
I also now know why Alex had such a beef with Ram at first. And yeah, I’d probably want to punch him a few times myself. But I love how much even they’ve grown and work together. They have each other’s backs, no matter what the past held, the future they know they all have each other through thick and thin.
So even though it wasn’t a murder mystery book, it’s still a good part of the story to see where it all began and to see where they came from and where they are now, and where things are headed.
