After quitting his job, Billie Watts hits all the food festivals he can as he drives across the country. When he finally reaches Stony Brook, Maine, he’s excited to find he’s there just in time to try one of the lobster rolls he’s heard so much about. The bright neon yellow food truck with a giant red lobster on top looks like the perfect place to try it.
Lance Karl is as ready as he can be for the start of the three-day Tall Ships Festival and hopes to sell enough lobster rolls out of his food truck to make a good start towards owning a restaurant. The day begins cold and misty, and a text from his nephew saying he can’t help him is not the perfect start he’d hoped for.
When a green-eyed stranger interrupts his frantic morning, Lance doesn’t realize meeting Billie will not only change his day, but maybe even the rest of his life. Two strangers, drawn together over their work ethic, and sealing the deal over delicious lobster rolls. They could just be the perfect match.
A small-town MM vacation romance.
I knew it was a mistake, he was just in town for the festival, but I couldn’t resist the chance to shower with Billie. If tonight was all we had, then I’d forever treasure every touch, and remember each sweet kiss. He leaned against me, and I gladly supported his weight, and tried to keep my dick under control.
Kissing along his neck was like mapping the best route to a treasure beyond compare. He was everything I’d always wanted in a man, and more. I tried to shove the fact he’d be leaving into the back of my mind, but it kept roaring to the forefront. He was so relaxed, and I found myself imagining this was something we did all the time and hoping it could somehow be true.
Those thoughts shocked me. I’d always been driven by my ambition, and mostly I didn’t want to put time into a relationship that I could put into my business. But Billie was different. He understood how important my business was to me, and he was someone I could see as an equal. Not someone who would resent the hours I put into building my business the way I wanted to.
“Lance, take me to bed,” he murmured, and reached his arm back to stroke my hair.
“Whatever you want, Billie,” I whispered against his cheek before I kissed him.
I grabbed for a towel and dried him off as his blinks got longer and slower. “Sorry, I’m so tired.”
“You worked hard the past two days.” I smiled up at him as I dried his legs.
“You did too,” he mumbled.
“Yeah, but I didn’t drive all night to get here and then work all day.”
“How do you know—” He looked down at me, and I stood to meet his eyes.
“I think I know you better than you think I do. I would have done the same thing.” I finished drying him off before wrapping him a towel. He stood and swayed more than I would have liked as I dried myself. “Let’s get you to bed.” I scooped him up and carried him. His only reaction was to snuggle in closer to me, and when I settled him in bed, he pulled the towel off as I covered him up. With a quick shiver he pulled the blankets close.
BL Maxwell grew up in a small town listening to her grandfather spin tales about his childhood. Later she became an avid reader and after a certain vampire series she became obsessed with fanfiction. She soon discovered Slash fanfiction and later discovered the MM genre and was hooked.
