BLURB:
Can a sweet and sexy fireman change a fling into a happily ever after?
Neil Farris is your typical ‘love ’em and leave ’em’ type. He’s been told his biggest fear is commitment, but he’s not bothered by that. He doesn’t see the point of a long-term relationship. He either gets bored or his partners realize he’s too bossy and scathing. It’s easier to stick to one-night stands.
When his boring work conference in Brisbane sends him to the wrong hotel, he finds himself surrounded by gorgeous firemen. Luckily for him, one of them is gay and interested in a good time.
Scott Fields is everything Neil looks for in a fling—gorgeous, good in bed and temporary. He’s also nice and considerate, which is a bonus. It’s a shame Neil only gets two nights with the fireman before he’s returning home.
However, much to his surprise, he runs into Scott a few days later. It turns out they’re both from the same town. When Scott asks him out, Neil is hesitant but agrees. He really isn’t interested in dating or relationships. Can the sweet and sexy fireman change his mind?
REVIEW:
Picking up men is something Neil can do, flirting, one-night-stands no problem, a quicky, say when, but a date?
Oh boy, that’s far out of his league. Still, two hot nights with a gorgeous fireman is something he can’t forget. When they meet again, unexpectedly, they will have coffee… a date. Neil’s first in years.
It’s something different than a fling. Neil is somewhat reluctant, he doesn’t do well with dates.
He’s uncomfortable with dates, reluctant to invest, he’ll just wait for Scott to find out he’s no good.
Scott asking for slow is something new for Neil.
Watching Neil feeling awkward and uncomfortable around Scott and Scott’s friends and family, was awesome and the nice part of this story. His fear of commitment was huge.
That’s about what the story is about, Neil out of his comfort zone, doing things he normally doesn’t.
It took some time but thank goodness, finally there is some struggle.
I would have loved Neil to stand up for himself. He agreed with everything. Also, a look into Scott’s mind and emotions would have been welcomed, I really missed his view on Neil.
The story is sweet, sexy, entertaining, slightly repetitive, and slightly developed, I missed some layers of the characters. It was solely focused on their interactions and how Neil felt about it. In the very end, there was some struggle that I embraced full-heartedly because it gave a counterbalance to all the sweetness and a breakthrough to the constant doubts.
I would recommend this to the ones who love a light, fast read, with a lot of sexiness.
