Aleron Eastaughffe is a billionaire griffin who knows what he wants…
Namely, a gorgeous city penthouse, a life of luxury, and the respect and admiration of his peers-–all the things he’s come to expect as one of the Eastaughffes. But when Aleron finds himself connected to a rag-tag group of shifters and forced to work alongside the most awkward yet utterly captivating human witch in all the realms… he realizes he might want something very different after all.
Spencer Walsh is a witch who knows where he belongs…
And that is alone, in his remote cabin, where there are no annoying people around to give him strange looks when he spends his days reading, or to complain when he gets hyper-focused on research and forgets they exist. But when an old friend needs help researching a mysterious set of runes, Spencer joins forces with a group of shifters–and one gorgeous, provoking griffin–and learns that the world might just be more accepting than he thought… and more dangerous than he ever dreamed.
If Aleron and Spencer want a chance at a future together, they’ll have to let go of what they think they know, and face some hard truths together…
The truth about the runes and the magic they hold.
The truth about what love and belonging really mean.
And the truth about how much they’ll compromise to make each other happy… and how hard they’ll fight to keep each other safe.
REVIEW:
I am not even going to lie. For some reason, I got really nostalgic with this book. I remember all the way back to the first one where everything began, and I see branches of families coming forward and fulfilling their destinies, the kids that were terrified of their shadows for what they went through being men and women who are forces to be reckoned with. I see the strength, the family unit that has made ALL the difference for everyone, and it’s really made me happy.
This was a good book. Which, of course, didn’t surprise me because the series and the one that started the whole thing are amazing. All of them are still kicking butts and taking names and I’m loving every minute. But these two…lol, let’s just say, I feel Spencer’s pain. Granted I’m not a witch or anything like that, but yeah, I’d rather stay locked up in a cabin by myself as well. It’s too peopley out there lol. But what I love about Spencer, he knew he was going have to do more than just study. He knew he was going to have to get involved deeply to get to the roots of the problems going on and he goes out of his comfort zone to do so. Of course having Aleron there could be a good thing….or bad. Aleron is soo gorgeous, he knocks everyone off their feet it seems. But Aleron has eyes only for one.
They make a good team as well. Everyone has their tiffs or gets angry at each other, you have the jealous alpha thing that happens at times and with Spencer being human….well, Aleron is definitely in the business of keeping his man safe.
But you’ll have to read it for yourself to see how things turn out. It’s always a good and bad thing. Evil never seems to rest but someone always seems to find their happiness. I know there’s one in particular I’m waiting for. This series is worth every page. Every minute you pour into it from book one until this one is worth it. It’s a great series and I hope you’ve been keeping up. If not, you need to get on it.
