Hated? Yeah, I’ll take it and return it in spades.
That’s Duke Chambers motto when he begins working at GEA-A at Giuseppe Torrente’s request. His life isn’t bad before he tracks down Giuseppe–he’s been a drill sergeant in the Marines, garnering the respect of men and women with whom he’s served. He has two women who love him like a son, and a “little” older brother he adores. Everything is great until fate sticks her nose into Duke’s life and upends it, leaving him filled with hatred. He finds out a truth he never wanted to accept but is there more than meets the eye?
Corbin Barr is trying to adapt to a new world after the mechanic flees Arkansas to try to create a life in New York and make up for past wrongs he participated in that hurt his brother Shay and his cousin Chase. The guilt is soul deep, especially since Corby is harboring his own secrets. His unrequited crush on one of the professionals at GEA-A doesn’t help.
Ace Hampton has lived a million lives—everything from an MMA fighter to a mercenary to a bodyguard. He’s meditated with monks in Tibet, and he’s done his fair share of beating fear into the reluctant. He’s traveled the world, meeting men of all walks of life, but when Giuseppe Torrente asks for his assistance, Ace feels it’s important not to turn the man down. What Ace doesn’t expect to find is a brotherhood of security professionals unafraid to do what’s necessary to protect those who are under attack. Among them, Ace finds himself drawn to two men. He’s learned he’s not cut out for monogamy, but can he be faithful to two unique men who have their own pasts to fight?
Can three broken men heal themselves and each other? How strong is the power of love? Can Corbin and Ace help Duke see he could have a new family and be an orphan no more?
REVIEW:
The newest exciting installment of the operatives at GEA-A.
Corby Barr is “The Barber” Shay’s older brother that fled Arkansas and his religious homophobic family that believe that being gay is evil and torturing the gay out is the answer. He has been put into the GEA-A offices as the receptionist although his true passion is fixing cars. He is just starting to explore his true sexual nature now that he is out of his family’s clutches. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that not one but two gorgeous men that work with him are seriously interested in the cute ginger. Ace Hampton is a former MMA Fighter that Giuseppe Torrente asks to go help out at their division in America. He knows that he’s poly, in fact he has it tattooed on his body, but has a hard time trusting anyone after he was burned so badly when he was in his first serious relationship at a young age. Duke Chambers has secrets that are burning him. Staying quiet about them are hard but he gave his word to Giuseppe and he will honor that word no matter how hard it hurts to do so. What he isn’t hiding is his strong attraction to the ginger at the front desk at GEA-A. But Ace has shone his desire for the cutie too. How can a gay virgin, a free and wild fighter in a man bun and a former marine drill sergeant make it all work when one has never even had a relationship and one has a commitment phobia and they all work together?
This was a really hard review to write because I don’t want to give one single moment of the twists and turns away. I know that we are close to the end of the series so things are starting to come together and storylines are being wrapped up. What I can say is that each and every man that works for GEA-A are my heroes. They go above and beyond for their clients, their friends and their families. And these men have become a close group of found family. I also love how each of their spouses welcome with open arms anyone that becomes tangled with these men. And Gabe is the glue that makes this all work. His men are honorable and just. They do what needs to be done to protect those that they love and those who need their protection.
I have mixed feelings about my excitement of the next book. I seriously can’t wait to learn the last secrets being revealed and how everyone works out. But that’s my dilemma…I don’t want this series to end. I have fallen in love with each and every man that is involved with Gabe, Dex, their family and GEA-A. How could you not? They are ridiculously attractive, loyal beyond question and fiercely protective. And I don’t want them to leave me. As you can tell I love this series and highly recommend it. I will caution that you need to start at the beginning and read each book in order. But you will be so thankful that you did!
