You know how sometimes you get one of those books? The one’s you can’t bear to put down but life keeps interrupting you? This book is that good and life kept poking at me until I was one grumpy Mama Bear! Stayed up to 4:30 in the morning to be left alone so I could savor this book. Yep, it’s that good.

Donny Canali is Mike’s older brother from Hot Seat (book 1). He may have been a bit homophobic until he saw up close and in person how Mike suffered with his being gay to the point they almost lost him. But he’s the rough and tough Alpha male that dates the “bad girls” with no strings attached just like he likes it. Then, when a hot shot fire plane pilot saves his and his fellow firefighter’s lives, with some water drops no one should have been able to maneuver, he develops a bit of hero worship for Dell Murphy, out and proud flying ace. When Dell gets his gaydar signals crossed and kisses Donny, Donny is baffled and confused. When a one-and-done trips all of Donny’s bells once isn’t enough…even though Donny isn’t gay…or is he just fooling himself?

I can get the attraction to the Canali men. They are first responders that put their lives on the line daily and are beyond hot as hell! And I could see why Dell got confused. He heard that one of the men had recently come out and Donny kept making goo-goo eyes at him. Or, at least, he thought he was.

I will say that I was shocked when I heard this was Donny’s story. That man never, ever sent me any kind of bi vibes but all it takes is the one…the one that unleashed your hidden desires. Desires so deeply buried that even Donny never knew about them himself. But Dell and Donny were smoking hot when they got together. Two gorgeous Alpha men, just yum. Add in Dell being all dominant and Donny learning that he loved it when Dell took charge. Between Dell’s dominance and sexy dirty talk Donny was hooked.

I was pleasantly surprised with Donny and Mike’s dad final response. And how their Uncle Ricky came through finally. I didn’t think Angie could be enlightened.

I am hoping that we have many more trips to come to visit the family compound in Resolute and discover more hidden secrets in the Canali family.
