Dear Santa,
It’s been a long time since I had a boy. I know I swore that I wouldn’t look for one until I could give him all my time, love, and energy.
Okay, so maybe I shouldn’t be looking for that perfect sweet boy to take care of. My life is a mess. My business is doing better than ever (and I did say I would find my boy when it was), but I lost my brother. Now I’m the guardian to my niece. Is it fair to even think about finding my very own boy to cuddle with, someone to take care of when I’m failing spectacularly at being a dad?
I know I can be a wonderful Daddy. And I think I can be a pretty good dad. So if it’s not too much to ask, I would like a boy to love and adore that will also cherish my daughter. I guess what I really want is a family.
That’s not too much to ask, right?
His Boy to Heal is part of the Naughty or Nice Season Two multi-author series. From this installment, you can expect a super sweet boy who just needs a daddy to remind him how amazing he is and a sexy older Daddy with a huge heart, just waiting for the perfect boy to heal. Each book can be read as a standalone, but so many Daddies are looking for some holiday magic to bring them their perfect boys. Why not grab them all?
REVIEW:
The long awaited next installment of the Naughty or Nice Season Two books is finally here!
Ari finds himself in a really tough place. His ex left him high and dry literally. Dax had him give up his job and be a stay-at-home boy then packed up and ran off, while Ari was out on an errand, with two months left on their lease. Thankfully his best friend Dillon (who is in a long term relationship with Ari’s cousin Malcolm) have his back and take him in when he is evicted. After taking what was left of his money to turn his college credits into an associates degree, Ari embarks on a new career as a nanny of a under two year old girl, Laney, who has recently lost her only parent, her dada, and is now living with her uncle Gage McCall, whom just happens, by coincidence, to be Dillon’s boss. While both men are attracted to each other they are attempting to ignore their desire by signing on to Cuff’d and wind up interacting with each other but don’t know it. But what happens next when one figures out who the other is and freaks out?
I have to say that some of this book was confusing. First off though, I will say, I liked both men and wanted them to become a family.
However this book made me question several times if I missed something. First off, this series was based on a letter from Daddies, through Cuff’d, to Santa searching for their perfect boy. The blurb gave a letter (not the original blurb that had a friend died and he was taking in his goddaughter) about a search for a boy. However the letter never actually appeared in the book so if you didn’t read the blurb or know the premise of the Dear Sant Cuff’d letters if was a stretch. This book actually had both men looking for more of a distraction from each other by signing on to Cuff’d than looking for Santa to send a perfect boy to the Daddy.
The other part that confused me was timelines. One chapter Ari ran away from Gage in his wet swimsuit and sat outside watching kids riding bikes. The very next page Gage was watching snow fall while avoiding home but it didn’t seem like much time had gone by, at least not months. Then Gage comes home with a purple bruise on his jaw but no reason or questions how/why??? Then it’s suddenly Christmas and Gabe runs out to shop on Christmas Eve, has to travel all the way from Downtown Seattle to Tacoma (at least an hour drive), come back and wrap and decorate the house all while Ari and Laney are out on an errand. Oh and Malcolm drove Laney and Ari home after they took the bus out to drop off Gage’s watch to be repaired but where did a car seat magically appear? Laney wasn’t even two yet. I know some of this might be nit-picky but it tended to really stop me and start to question if I missed parts I just read.
So yes I like the story premise and enjoyed both men a lot however there were a lot of holes that drove my rating down. It was like parts of the story were removed when being edited but no smoothing transition occurred.
