This is part of a continuing series by Amazon International Bestselling Author, Mary Rundle – reading the previous titles is advised. Readers will enjoy catching up with members of the Blackwood Pack and reading about what is happening to them as the pack does what it does best ̶ caring for one another, fighting evil, and helping shifters everywhere.
Finally free after spending more than 50 years controlled by a cruel master, Lucius has one goal only—return to the family taken from him when Valerian transformed him into a vampire. But he soon finds that even though his master is now dead, a death grip on him remains. Stripped of his powers to translocate and in constant pain, Lucius’ only hope is to follow a force pulling him toward a place he hopes will end his suffering.
Brady, a retired attorney, who worked at the Witches Governing Council, arrives at the Blackwood Pack after agreeing to help one of the pack’s brothers whose mate is the new Ruler of the Mystic Realm, and whose life is in danger because he wants to end the blatant corruption and exploitation of low level magic users.
Brady meets the pack’s members and is in awe of the powers the Fates have bestowed on them. But, after his previous years of dealing with the unscrupulous members of Witches’ Governing Council—and then being ousted for his efforts to achieve justice—he’s become distrustful of outward appearances.
Called into Alpha Blackwood’s office, Brady learns the Fates have given him the young vampire as his mate. But Lucius, having been found unconscious, lies dying, and Brady must decide if he is willing to do the only thing that will save his mate.
Eventually, Brady and Lucius begin a journey, where the past and present are woven together until both achieve the love and happiness they always desired, but never knew how or where to find.

Raising an eyebrow, Carson glanced at his mate. Something clearly scared the boys, but it was impossible to make any sense out of their answers. “Babe, do you mind staying here with the boys while I go and see what they found?”
“Noooo,” Eamon whimpered. “Carsso, don’t go.”
“Hey,” Carson said, looking at Galen. “I need you to do something for me.”
Wrinkling his forehead, Galen studied Carson, before asking, “What?”
“Will you take Remy and Eamon into the house and protect them for me?”
“What about Rune?” Galen asked. “Do I protect him, too?”
“Yup…he’s up in his bed, napping right now and I need you to protect him, too,” Carson replied.
“What if the zombie wants to get in?”
“Make sure you lock the door…that way he won’t be able to get in.”
Nodding, Galen squirmed out of Remy’s arms. He waited until Carson transferred Eamon over to Remy before tugging on Remy’s shirt. “C’mon, Remee, Carsso said you got to obey me.”
Holding back a smile, Remy said, “Your wish is my command…lead the way.”
Remaining where he was, Carson watched his family until they were safely inside the cottage. Then he headed in the direction Galen had pointed to. He wasn’t sure what he’d find, but if he had to guess, it would turn out to be nothing, knowing the boys’ fanciful imaginations. Before taking a dozen steps, he paused, hearing the approach of several cars.
Carson smiled as their guests drove up and waited until everyone spilled out of the vehicles. “Hey, just in time.”
“For food, I hope,” drawled Logan, approaching Carson.
“Nope…well at least not right now. I’m on my way to find a zombie…want to join me?”
“Not really.” Logan smirked.
“Did you say a zombie?” asked Hunter, holding Fionn’s hand.
“Something scared Galen and Eamon and I was just on my way to investigate,” Carson said.
“Are they all right?” asked Kieran.
“Yeah…they’re in the house with Remy,” Carson said. “I won’t be gone long…beer and wine are in the backyard, so help yourselves.”
Listening to his spirit, Kieran gasped at what it was telling him. “Macushla, I have to go with Carson.”
“Why…” Logan stopped to listen to his mate’s explanation through their mind link. “Oh shit!”
“What?” asked Carson.
“C’mon, he’s dying,” Kieran implored.
“Who’s dying?” asked Carson, following Logan and Kieran as they stumbled through rows of grapevines.
Spying the prone man, Logan rushed over to him, kneeling down by his side. Pressing his fingers firmly against the side of Lucius’s neck, he felt for a pulse before rolling him over to check for wounds.
Joining his mate, Kieran placed his palm on Lucious’s thigh, drawing out pain buried deep in the vampire’s body.
Standing behind his brother, Carson stared at the pale man, seemingly dead except for the blood-red tears running down his cheeks. “Holy shit!”
“Call Colton!” Logan barked. The man’s pulse was weak, dropping out totally from time to time.
“Helppp…”
“Macushla, he needs blood.”
Putting his phone on speaker, Carson said, “Here…he’s on the phone.”
“What’s up?” Colton asked.
“There’s a man who’s unconscious with a very weak pulse. His skin is pale and cold. We’re in the middle of a vineyard with no medical facility close by. Tell me what to do.”
“Macushla, he needs blood!” Kieran interrupted, anxiously.
“Help…me…please…”
“I understand babe,” Logan said, “but I can’t…”
“Move aside so I can help him, macushla.” Lifting his wrist to his mouth, Kieran sliced it open with one of his fangs before pressing it against the man’s mouth. “He’s a vampire,” he murmured, watching the man’s mouth latch onto him.
“A vampire? What the hell is he doing here?” asked Carson.
“Turn the phone around so I can see him!” demanded Colton.
After complying, Logan said, “I don’t know if you can see it, but it looks like his eyes are crying blood.”
“Fuck! Logan, take over from Kieran. It’s too dangerous for his pup for him to continue. Carson, get ready to follow Logan. We have to stop the bleeding or he’ll die.”
“What’s the matter with him?” asked Carson.
“My guess is he hasn’t eaten in a very long time,” Colton said.
“Why not? I thought there wasn’t any way a vampire could refuse to eat,” Carson said.
“Obviously that’s not true,” Colton murmured, studying the man on his phone’s screen.
“How much blood does he need?” asked Carson.
“A lot,” Colton muttered. “More than you and Logan can give.”
“Hunter’s nearby, too,” Kieran said.
“Call him, babe,” Logan said, watching the vampire slowly swallow the blood trickling from the cut.
“What he really needs is a transfusion,” Colton said.
“Sorry, bro, fresh out of bags of blood,” Carson muttered.
Now, eleven books later, Blood Prophecy, has just been published. I love the M/M paranormal genre because it gives my imagination a lot of territory in which to roam. My mind can really run wild and come up with some amazing stuff when it doesn’t have to stay inside the box. My story ideas come to me as if they were being channeled by my characters, all of whom I love (except for a few villains). They are eager to recount their lives, loves and adventures, and are not reluctant to let it all out when it comes to revealing steamy details. My writing style is free-wheeling and uninhibited and my readers tell me they love it that way; that it makes them feel like they’re right in on the action and a member of the Blackwood Pack.
I live in the Northeast and love the beautiful change of seasons, my husband, and our quirky calico cat, though not necessarily in that order. I read a lot (good for the mind) and love gardening (good for the soul). And I’m always happy to hear from my readers and can be reached through Facebook, my private Facebook Group, Twitter, Instagram, or my website.
