A twenty year age gap, a neurodivergent ‘boy’ and a gray ace of a ‘Daddy’, both lonely and unable to find their match… until now.
Ethan Humboldt is a cocky, confident chef with zero filter and even less humility. He’s also a very good, neurodivergent boy who’s been searching far too long for the perfect Daddy. At thirty, Ethan knows what he wants—and what he needs. The only problem? Finding a caregiving type of Daddy to provide it.
Danvers Jones has more money than he knows what to do with and nobody to spend it on. He’s not looking for a fling, Dan needs someone to pamper. To romance… to adore. As a romantic gray ace, nothing else will do it for him.
Newly retired, Dan has one final mission—to find his former best friend’s long lost son and deliver a trust fund. After that, Dan’s determined to start fully living his life, which starts with the right partner. Only problem? Dan requires the type of person who’ll need his unique brand of Daddy.
Danvers and Ethan aren’t expecting to meet their perfect match in a random meet cute gone wrong, but when does life ever go according to plan?
This stand-alone novel is a full-length, 43k non-age play Daddy romance. The core of this story was previously published as a 15k short in the USA Today bestselling “Dirty Daddies 2021 Anthology.” It’s now been reworked and lengthened to provide the tale as originally intended.
REVIEW:
I don’t think I have ever read a more diverse and interesting book! Simply wonderful.
Ethan Humboldt is a successful chef and restaurant owner. He is also a boy in search of a special daddy. A daddy that will not only understand but embrace his uniqueness. A daddy that will treasure him but understand his unique needs. A daddy just like Danvers! Dan has recently retired from his law practice and just needs a boy to pamper, spoil and love. A boy that doesn’t need a nonstop sex life but needs regiment, cuddles and attention. A boy just like Ethan.
This short romp through just one week in the lives of Ethan and Dan (Danvers) is eye opening and throughly enjoyable. These two characters are unlike any other characters that I have ever read and that’s saying a lot! Their unique diversities are match well together and compliment what the other has searched for in their lives.
I found it gratifying even though Ethan was discarded by his sperm donor and Dan was dismissed (because of his sexuality) by his life long best friend/law partner that turned out to be the same disgusting jerk. I also found it very apropos that Dan became the Daddy to Ethan when Gerry was the boy’s biological father. Not only was Gerry a raging homophobic jerk but he discarded his own wife and son, whom were much better off without him in their lives, because of him being a jerk about children with unique diversities. Dan was and is the daddy for Ethan!
It was a challenge for me at first to have Ethan’s mother be such an intrigal part of Ethan’s contract with his daddies. Not something that most son and mom’s would discuss usually but nothing about Ethan is usual so it worked. Still…just ewww from this mom’s part!
I loved that Dan not only embraced Ethan’s neurodiversity but did every thing possible to make sure Ethan was comfortable and well cared for. And I loved that Ethan was looking after his “old man” from the start. His bluntness was engaging and comical. Author Susan Hawke got Ethan spot-on!
This was a richly written short book into a unique relationship of two men that operate outside of what society deems normal but their uniqueness it what truly made them work as a couple.
