Just what I needed!

Dr. Chris Chalmers is the country’s leading pediatric heart surgeon at only 35. He’s an omega that is at the top of his profession and has worked hard for it. But it’s the joy of saving children with ailing hearts that brings him true joy. Knowing that child has a new chance at life because he preforms his magic. And no weaseling Alpha like Guy is going change his goals no matter how rich, successful and good-looking he is. When his best friend and anesthesiologist partner Dr. Jing Li gets them tickets to the Valentine’s Day auction that you bid on candy and get a surprise date with the proceeds going to the Children’s wing’s omega and baby program at the small town hospital in Clearvale, Minnesota. How could he back out of something so important and worthy of donations. Little did he know that the sweet, shy alpha would be just what he needs. Nurse practitioner Theodore “Teddy” Behrens is wrangled into being part of the hospital fundraiser as a last minute replacement. He just has to buy a special candy treat and plan a romantic date. But the shy, never even been kissed, 28 year old virgin is enthralled with the gorgeous doctor that just saved one of his favorite patient’s life. Sparks fly but how can something this sweet and hot last when Chris’s job requires him to travel constantly?

This book was ultra special to me. I will never forget our pediatric cardiologist that saved our 13 month old first-born son’s life. He is my hero and I know exactly how Rhonda and James (Delores’ parents) felt about both Dr. Chris and Nurse Teddy. The medical staff that saves your baby’s life and fixes their defective heart will be forever in your heart. I know because Dr. Starr and his team have been in mine for over 40 years! And the author got it perfect.

I loved that Teddy saved himself for his special someone and he knew it was Chris immediately. He wasn’t ready for his “one” when his Mom’s and others kept pushing new omegas on him but Chris opened up a whole new world for Teddy and Teddy unlocked Chris’ heart to take a chance! I got where Chris was coming from though. He had worked hard to get where he was in life. Even if his O dad never acknowledged his achievements. So giving in at all would show a sign of weakness and Chris was definitely not weak. And he proved it to everyone. Even if it was at his own expense. I loved that Jing was always there for him and helped him realize what he had and what it was he was giving up!

This was a sweet, loving book with special candy, a patient that knew what was in the future for her doctor and favorite nurse, a shy first time Alpha with his gorgeous idol doctor that was a take charge omega. Great recipe for a happily ever after! This was my first book by author Ava Beringer but won’t be my last. She has a new fan.
