But then Des got cold feet, and the two of them have never connected again in that way.
Ryan thinks Dez just isn’t that into him. Dez doesn’t want to mess up his friendship with Ryan over something that may or may not ever come to pass. In the midst of all this frustration, they also have to deal with a security crisis with their respective best friends, Holden and Lachlan. When they have to band together to get their friends back, Ryan and Dez are reminded why they work so well together. But can they solve their own problems, and find their way back to each other, as well as save the day?
REVIEW:
I couldn’t wait to hear Ryan and Dez’s story. Boy did it not disappoint!
Ryan is Holden’s best friend and Dez is Lachlan’s. They decided to join forces, with Lachlan as a silent partner, after they got Chloe back from the kidnappers. That little girl has them wrapped around her pinky so tight! When Ryan and Dez hook up one night in Vegas Dez is so worried about messing up their partnership and friendship that he just sneaks out in the middle of the night and they never talk about it. Heck, sometimes Ryan worries it was just a sex dream! When things come to a head and Ryan looks at pulling up stakes and heading back to California, Dez finally pulls his head from his arse and goes for Ryan. Their date is explosive and turns into a long weekend. Then things go to hell in a basket when Holden and Lachlan get kidnapped. Can the two men save their best friends and can Ryan and Dez finally find the love and all that Dez fought so hard against…or is it too late???
Oh my goodness did I simply love this book 💕 I felt so bad for Ryan. He falls for a man, whether Holden or Dez and they don’t return it. Holden I got. He loves Ryan as his best friend in the world and would do anything for him. He just didn’t love him, not that way. Dez was a freaking fool! He wanted Ryan but couldn’t let himself get out of his head what could happen if it all went up in flames. Mother was the perfect name for him because he was such a mother hen and worrier. Although, with Ryan he had every right to be. Act first, think second seemed to be his motto. Although I got why he did what he did in Holden and Lachlan’s case…they were family!
I hated seeing this book end. Although I loved Holden, Lachlan and little Chloe, Ryan and Dez just did it for me. And I was so thankful that the Texas twang and Aussie slang wasn’t as prevalent in this book. And boy oh boy did these men burn up the pages when they finally got together *fans myself*.
I have enjoyed many of BA’s book with Texas men but I think this one is my most favorite. I am hoping that we get more from AusTex Security and we get to catch up with Ryan, Dez, Holden, Lachlan and Chloe more. Maybe a trip to Oz is needed soon? They don’t know who is behind this kidnapping and the threat may still be looming out there.
