REVIEW:
When I started reading this genre, one of the first authors I have ever read was Ms. Kindle Alexander. They are amazing writers and their books are some of my favorites up to this day. The first time I read this story, it drew out so many emotions that I was sure my heart will forever stay broken. That is how I realized that I am totally into highly-angsty love stories, more especially from the MM genre.
Reed Kensington has been dubbed a playboy for having different men hanging on his arm whenever he is seen out and about town. Although deep inside, none of those men really made him say the three words important and sacred to him. Not until he set eyes again on Sgt. Trevor West, his brother’s best friend and one of his teammates in the Marine Corp. The Kensington men are known for “falling fast and hard” for their respective life-long partners. It happened to his grandfather, to his father, to his brother and now definitely to Reed. He just needs to convince Trevor that this is how it was always meant to be.
Sgt. Trevor West was welcomed to the Kensington family when his mom, his only living relative, died when he was younger. Having trained with Rylie since basic training, he has become a member of the family. When he saw Reed again during the rehearsal dinner for Rylie and Elise’s wedding, and when Reed tried to talk to him and spend time with him, he couldn’t believe that someone like Reed would even spare him a second glance. Surely Reed will tire of him sooner than later, right?
After spending a short time together, Trevor and his team had to go out on a covert mission that went sideways resulting to a serious injury. What looked like a career military for him now looks like a road leading nowhere. But Reed became the constant in his life. No matter what he does or says, Reed never left his side. Reed and the whole Kensington family is always at his side. His self-doubts are clouding his thoughts so much so that he doesn’t see what he already has in his life and right in front of him, the man of his dreams. Someone who will stick around, no matter what!
I love Reed and Trevor’s story, I love how confident Reed was when he realized that Trevor is the one for him and how he set about convincing his beautiful soldier that they were meant to be. I love how Trevor conquered his fears and insecurities, it wasn’t easy for him but he forged through it, with someone as unwavering as Reed and Rylie, with the whole Kensington family, by his side, who wouldn’t!
Ms. Kindle Alexander, you will forever be one of my most favorite authors and your stories will be classics, I literally cannot wait for your next book, Your storylines are amazing in its thoroughness and your characters are beautiful, smart and full of courage. They go through their respective adversities with courage and strength, no matter what! They are people who go through the same heartaches and triumphs like you and me. I love them all!
