The goings on below are sexy as hell. Every night in-house Doms step up to display their BDSM artistry as Cole watches, closed off to the world he abandoned years before due to the horrible scars he bears, destined to live alone. One night all of that changes when Dawson, a down on his luck rent boy, walks into the club.
Join Cole, his only companion, Bull, and all the Doms of Raw Hide take a wild ride in untamed cowboy leather style, as only they can do. Yee Haw!
REVIEW:
A fast paced series highlighting D/s relationships at a Cowboy-themed BDSM bar in New York City.
In Say My Name we are introduced to Cole Chambliss, owner of the Raw Hide bar. It’s a cowboy/western themed bar in NYC with a twist of catering to those into the lifestyle. Cole was tragically and permanently disfigured while serving in the military in the Middle East. Cole’s best friend Bull followed him to NYC after he shut down his BDSM bar in Texas and helped set up Raw Hide. Now Bull manages it for Cole, who has become a recuse and is trapped, self imposed, to just watch from his apartment overlooking his club. When Cole takes notice of a particularly alluring young twink/rent bo, his Dom Boss Zander is working over in a scene in the pit for the patrons, he feels the need to experience the boy himself on his own under his rules. Rules that include limited talking (his voice/vocal cords were highly damaged in the explosion) and a blindfold on at all times (his face is severely scarred from the same explosion). No one would want his hideous face if they saw the monster that resides upstairs he believes. Bull arranges for Dawson to be brought to him and plays with the boy in his private playroom. When feelings start to take over he feels compelled to release the boy and turn him over to Zander to be kept. But Dawson has other ideas.
Bull gets his own story in The Bears Surrender when Zander starts getting feelings for the huge Hawaiian bear. Who knew that the gorgeous pit boss was attracted to big, force bears covered in tribal tattoos? Although I knew Bull would be fiercely loyal and protective of Zander I was shocked by how surprisingly romantic the strict, by the rules, Dom was outside of the pit at Raw hide. I just knew when a threat to Zander arose and Bull discovered it he would go all out to protect the man he was falling for. Once a Marine always a Marine!
In I Dare You Cort knew that his life would never be the same when Eric passed away from bone cancer. They had the perfect life in his opinion. Now, two years later, his best friend Peter is doing ever he can to bring his buddy back into the land of the living. Jax’s childhood best friend Marc is thrilled to have his friend back. That piece of trash abusive wannabe Dom Aaron. Jax never wants anything to do with that lifestyle ever again. Aaron had broke him and he was lucky to get out in one piece. Marc dares Max, like they have been doing since they were young to go after the gorgeous Dom even though Max wants nothing to do with BDSM. But when the date goes awry can a promising chance at a relationship happen and survive?
These were wonderful short novellas based out of Raw Hide. I enjoyed Say My Name and The Bears’ Surrender a bit more than I Dare You. The first two were based on Cole and Bull and their lasting friendship that endured the brutality of war and its lasting effects. Bull would always be there for his friend and deep down he felt he let him down by not being their to protect him in his time of need. But when he was truly needed was when he was. He couldn’t have protected his body that day but he could be there for him for the aftermath. Bull forcing Cole to open his eyes and his heat to Dawson was a hero looking after what was best for his dear comrade. Cole using Zander to take the chance with Bull was Cole paying that forward. Their friendship was truly heartwarming and touching. I Dare You was good but Peter and Marc’s adolescent games almost cost Jax and Cort at a chance at true happiness. I’m not a fan of juvenile games like this and they had no place in a BDSM club.
A great little series with short reads when you need something a bit rough and spicy!
