REVIEW:
I am growing very fond of this author and her writing style. Now I just want more!
Nash Davis just wants to help his little brother and his wife chase their dreams and to be left to his solitary life. He thought he had it all when he was younger but that life was ripped from his heart. Imagine his surprise that, just after he comes out to his best friend and brother that he’s bisexual, his past walks into their resort with his soon-to-be fiancé wrapped around him. Adrian Walker has lived his life hidden far deep in the closet. The son of a powerful über-conservative Senator from Texas he has had no choice. All he ever wanted was to spend his life with the boy in his heart but he knew better than to drag Nash down that hell hole. Now he has to spend the next two months smiling for the camera before he has to propose to the woman his dad arranged for him to marry. All for political gain of course! Color Adrian shocked when the resort they are booked at belongs to his first and only love’s family and Nash is standing there glaring at him! But how can he keep up the charade when all he really wants in life is to be back in Nash’s arms?
Wow! Talk about vile, evil, homophobic jerks!!! I can’t imagine what it was like growing up like Adrian did. Yes, he had every creature comfort handed to him on a silver platter. That is except love and acceptance. That wasn’t how the disgusting Senator worked. It was all about prestige and looking good for his constituents. Not about doing the right thing and being a decent human being with compassion and open mindedness.
And I felt for both Adrian and Nash. Nash for getting his heart stomped on so badly that it changed him. And Adrian for thinking he was doing the right thing by letting Nash go to not be burdened by him. Their stories broke my heart. I just kept hoping that they could open up, be truthful and trust enough to let the other in. Even after how badly Adrian, trying to do the right thing in his mind, hurt Nash.
This was a fabulous story of second-chance love and love overcoming evil! I loved all the characters and can’t wait for Hayden’s story. I’m sure it’s going to be as feisty as he is! I just can’t wait!
