Ima-GIN-ation by Sam E. Kraemer
On The Rocks, Book 2
Can an architect and a bar owner build a strong relationship? Not without a strong foundation and ImaGINation!
Leo Anderson is about as confused as a guy of twenty-eight can be. All his life he’s been denying a part of himself, and now, with the appearance of a dashing architect in Leo’s simple life as a bar and restaurant owner, that side of him—the side that is attracted to men—comes exploding from the closet like a battering ram.
Cameron March, a forty-something architect, discovers his attraction to men and women—after he’s married with a family. Being a responsible father, he buries those feelings deep inside himself for the sake of his two sons until one-day, his wife decides she’s done with the marriage… nearly fifteen years later.
When Leo contacts Cam about expanding On the Rocks, the beach bar Leo owns with his singer-brother and best friend, Cameron’s immediately attracted to the barman—and the timing couldn’t be worse. Cam’s divorce is final, but he’s still fighting his ex-wife to keep her from taking his younger son to live in the Pacific Northwest where she wants to begin her new life.
How can Cam and Leo explore the possibility of a relationship without Cam losing his son?
It’ll take a lot of ImaGINation…

Bzzz. Bzzz.
I glanced over to my desk from my drafting table to see the intercom light flashing. I slid off my stool and hit the button. “Nichele, why didn’t you buzz my cell?” I asked with a bit of a bite in my tone.
“You wanna check the battery power and apologize to me?” she responded.
I looked at my cell to see it was dead. “I apologize.”
Nichele chuckled. “Accepted. It’s Cordon March.”
I inwardly groaned because I owed my brother a call, and I knew he was going to give me hell about it. “That’s my brother. How’s he sound?” I asked.
“Sexy A-F, boss. That man has quite a lovely voice,” Nichele taunted. Cord had a deeper voice than mine, which was probably due to the lifestyle he led. I was the stupid geek to his cool bad boy. Life wasn’t fucking fair when it came to me and my twin brother.
“Thanks, Nichele,” I replied before I went to the desk and hit the speaker button on my phone. “Cord?”
“Little brother, how the fuck are ya?”
I walked over to close the door in the event Lan was having a client in. We were trying to project ourselves as a professional organization after all. Nothing about my moonshining brother was professional.
“I’m well—as well as I can be with the shit hitting my fan. What’s up with you?” I replied.
“How are my nephews? Grayson doing okay at college?” Cord asked. It was the way he procrastinated telling me why he’d actually called, and I had the feeling it was because he had bad news, though I couldn’t imagine what it could be.
“Doing great in light of the circumstances. His girlfriend broke up with him so he was in the dumps for a few weeks, but he’s back at school, and I think he’s better now—unless he contacted you to say he’s in trouble,” I pressed.
I knew Grayson and Cord were friends on social media—which pissed me off because my son wasn’t friends with me, barely speaking to me when he was at my place for weekends, much less contacting me on the few social media outlets I was on.
Cord laughed. “Nope. He hasn’t called in a month or so. How about you? Are you surviving the divorce wars?”
One good thing—I could bitch to my brother about my stupid mistake. “Oh, Jess has a new tact. She’s pressing that Lan and I are dating—have been dating for years, and she swears she has the pictures to prove it. She says no judge will allow me to raise Archie when she finishes stacking the deck against me,” I answered, feeling the anger flare inside me at the memory of the meeting at Bar-B when she came up with that bullshit about Lan and me being a couple.
“Seriously? She’s gonna try to push that you’re having a relationship with your business partner? The man you’ve been friends with for years? What the hell is she smoking?” Cord asked.
I had to laugh because I’d thought the same thing. “I guess the money her boyfriend makes isn’t enough to support her extravagant lifestyle. I honestly have no fucking idea. How about you? What are you up to?” I inquired.
“I’m curious to know what you can tell me about one of your clients. He turned up at Oriole’s Nest a day or two ago. His name is Leo Anderson,” Cord informed.
“Wh-who?” I asked, unsure how in the hell Leo had ever ended up in Maryland and come across my brother. Had he gone looking for Cord? Was he stalking me?
“Leo Anderson. Gorgeous blond about six-foot tall. Big smile, and sexy as fuck. He’s doing a distillery tour in the mid-Atlantic, and he showed up here. He met a student of mine over in Frederick, and Mark sent him here. He says he knows you,” Cord explained.
My common sense told me to just make light of our acquaintance, and with the shit I was facing with Jessica, it was the smartest thing to do. At least I hadn’t let my paranoia take over with that stalking bullshit. “He’s a client—that’s all. He’s a nice guy.”

About the Author:
I grew up in the rural Midwest before moving to the East Coast with a dashing young man who swept me off my feet, and we’ve now settled in the desert of Nevada. I write M/M contemporary romance, subgenres: sweet low angst, age-gap, cowboys, mysteries, and military/mercenary to name a few. I am a firm believer in “Love is Love” regardless of how it presents itself, and I’m a staunch ally of the LGBTQIA+ community.
I have a loving, supportive family, and I feel blessed by the universe and thankful every day for all I have been given. I’m old enough to know how to have fun, but too old to care what others think about my definition of a good time. In my heart and soul, I believe I hit the cosmic jackpot. Cheers!
