Welcome to the Love Bytes Reviewers’ Best of 2021
Another year has passed in which books have brought all of us a much needed escape and sense of comfort. Our Love Bytes team reviewed approximately 1,300 LGBTQ+ books in 2021, from contemporary romance to fantasy, paranormal, historical, adventure, mystery, comedy and everything in between. Each day for the next few weeks, we will feature one of our reviewers’ top picks from books and audiobooks published in 2021. These lists highlight how diverse our tastes in reading are, and offer something for everyone. With thousands of fantastic new books each year, written by hundreds of creative and talented authors, it’s so difficult to narrow our lists down. We all have many favorite authors not featured here and wish we could acknowledge them all.
Dani’s 2021 Favorites
Of course, it was a struggle like each year to select only 10 books out of the books I had the pleasure reading this year. It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t cheat and sneak in one or two more right 😀 And then to explain why I choose that book over another …So hard ..Sigh
Overall I had the pleasure of reading some awesome books 🙂
And let me take a moment to thank my amazing team of reviewers for all the incredable reviews they did in 2021 (and before) and to the authors writing these amazing books and providing their arc’s to Love Bytes.
A Soft Touch by Laura Lascarso
This book released in April and it stayed with me since that moment. It touched me not in just my heart but in my whole body. Strangely enough I knew right there and then that it would end up on my best of list.
Cowboy Logic by BA Tortuga
I am a fan of stories about cowboys, ranches, etc, and this author excels in writing these kind of stories, plain and simple. This last contribution to the so called BA’s Cozy Cowboys is everthing you can want in a contemporary sexy cowboy / ranch story and therefore, I wanted it added to my list.
Firsts and Forever Stories by Alexa Land
I have been a fan and following Alexa Land from her first book in the First and Forever series.
When the series stopped I was delighted that the author decided to continue in a spin off form and these stories are just everything and more.
Navarro (Rebel Sky Ranch #3) by Kelly Fox
AWWWWW this is just…..Awwwwesome. It is no secret I am a sucker for a good series (I could say series whore but well let’s keep it neat 😀 )
Kelly Fox is great at writing a series with following up on characters, which i personally love.
Navarro in her newest series is the cherry on top because the first two books are great but it all comes down to Desi and Wyatt, and boy, did Miss Fox deliver!
Bad Boy (Masters of Romance #1) by Emma Alcott
Another one of my soft spots besides cowboys and sports – Bad boys!
I cannot help it there is something about a bad boy that makes it even more enjoyable to read somethimes, I guess.
When I picked up this book I didn’t expect to get what I got and that made it even better.
Great characters, great story telling…a must read in my opinion. What a way to start a series.
Grumpy Bear by Slade James
A new (to me) author with an excellent book right up my ally. I like big, strong, sexy, lumberjacks so this ticked all my boxes. From the cover to the story. Another one that I cannot wait to see more of in the series and am following closely.
Eastern U Pirates Series: Bat Boy and Home Plate by Christina Lee
When you pick up a book from this author, you know you will get quality. With this series, she hit a home run.
These two books are fabulous from the writing to the characters to the sports theme. To be honest, it’s the series from this year that I really wish would continue and then include the characters from these two books.
Psycho (Necessary Evils #2) by Onley James
YES that is me when I see anything in regards to this series because man oh man, this is so freaking awesome.
This series… the men in them, the excitement, the sexiness, EVERYTHING.
I am following every update on new books and in my mind keep hoping the author pushes them out asap.
I picked book 2 because that was for me excellent but do yourself a favor and read this series.
Forever Mann (Bear Valley #1) by Aries France
One of the best books I have read this year, a must read in my opinion. What a debut!
Book 2 released already and I cannot wait for the other ones in the series.
The Jock (The Team #1) by Tal Bauer
Can I just say WOW? This book is that, it has the wow factor. This ranks high on my list just because the storytelling, the characters, the sport theme that I really like – it’s all there.
So those were my official 10 BUT then I wouldn’t do justice to one of my favorite authors who seriously brought out not one but two amazing series this year so I needed to add these books to my list.
Briar County Series: Firefly Lane and Sundae’s Best by Riley Hart
The Atlanta Lightning Series: The Endgame and The End Zone by Riley Hart
And I need to add a holiday recommendation because this year, I read one of the best holiday books ever in my opinion. It absolutely deserves to be mentioned!
