BLURB:
I have a Santa emergency and I desperately need your help.
Sigge isn’t exactly a grinch when it comes to Christmas, but he’s not a fan of the holiday either. So when his new neighbor Kristian shows up in a panic, begging him to help by donning a Santa suit, Sigge’s gut reaction is to say no. But Kristian is cute and funny, rendering Sigge powerless against his heartfelt plea—especially after a promise of spending more time together—so he agrees.
The instant connection deepens as they share mulled wine and conversation as easy as breathing. But is it just holiday magic swirling in the air, or is it something real? Something that will last into the new year and beyond?
REVIEW:
This short story is a another lovely amuse bouche from the master storyteller Nell Iris. I absolutely love her short stories. When I want a quick pick me up I can rely on her to provide something that will give me a warm happy feeing and a smile. This one definitely provides that 🙂
Sigge is having a quiet Christmas at home – drinking mulled wine and being on his own for reasons. All of the sudden a knock on the door from his new neighbor pulls him into the holiday. Kristian has a Santa emergency – due the unique circumstance of the current holiday for his family. He’s recently moved to his new house and in fact he hasn’t even had time to meet his neighbors so it’ quite a surprise to Sigge that he would come over with a rather outlandish request. But the guy is adorable and funny and earnest, so how could Sigge say no? Plus he’s been promised a good meal at the end of the day.
Sigge’s not a fan of the holiday, but he just can’t let Kristian down. Plus he’s looking forward to getting to know him better. When Kristian’s family departs, then Sigge and Kristian get to spend the evening together. They are definitely attracted to each other and they spend a romantic evening/night that feels like something completely new to both of them. Sigge’s ready to let someone in and Kristian’s optimism is enough to maybe convince him that he’s the one.
If you’re looking for a meet cute, sweet and sexy story of a Christmas saved for the kids that leads to more, then I think you’ll enjoy this story. It’s low angst and the chemistry between the men is believable but shows their vulnerability as well. I enjoyed their banter and quiet moments as well. Another lovely short story that provides the maximum feels in a minimum or words. Recommended.
