List story ideas you hope to tackle in the future
I have a number of idea that are simmering on the back burner. One of them is a follow up for The Doctor’s Heart. I’m thinking of The Doctor’s Wish. I wish I could say that I have all of the details down, but I don’t not yet. The doctor in this story is going to be older and his one regret is that he let the love of his life leave town years ago. They will reconnect when he passes though the emergency room as a patient. This story will have a heart felt second chance that we all wish.
I have as number of other ideas including a billionaire story and a story of a duke on the run who finds himself in Wyoming, stranded on a ranch, meeting a stoic cowboy after rescuing a dog and her puppies during a blizzard.
There will be more stories I’m sure, but for now, my head will only hold so many.
Happy holidays to everyone!!!!!
“Daddy, can I get pop at the pool?” Posey asked as soon as they pulled away from the house. “And I want a hot dog and a candy bar.”
“How about you go swimming, and after a while, you can have a little bit to eat. But you have to stay out of the water for a while after you eat.” That was a punishment worse than death for his little water baby.
“Okay, Daddy,” she said as though he hadn’t heard the last of her requests. For the rest of the drive to the pool, Rosco kept her distracted by singing “Wheels on the Bus” until he pulled into the parking lot.
The pool was busy, with lots of families all set up at the tables. Rosco should have thought about there not being any place for them to sit that wasn’t going to be right in the sun. One thing his daughter had inherited from him was his pale, sunburnable skin.
“Hey, Doc,” he heard over the screams and splashes of dozens of kids. Turning, he found himself staring right into Miguel’s eyes. He waved, and Rosco took Posey’s hand, leading her over. “Pull up a chair,” Miguel added with a smile.
“What are you doing here?” Rosco asked, eyeing up the bandage he’d placed on Miguel’s arm the night before.
“Not swimming, that’s for sure. My sister got called into work, so I’m here with my niece and nephew. It was either this or listen to the little monsters fight for two hours.” Miguel smiled and pulled a soda out of a cooler.
“I wanna swim,” Posey said, doing an excited dance.
“Okay.” Rosco set down all their stuff, got a chair, and pulled it over, glad to be in the shade. Then he helped Posey out of her T-shirt, and she ran over to the kiddie pool a few feet away, stepping in and grinning back to him. Then she sat down and splashed before getting up and running to play with the other kids.
“She’s a cutie, Doc,” Miguel said. He offered Rosco a soda and passed one over before leaning back, resting his arm across his impressive chest. Damn, the man was gorgeous, and for a second, Rosco forgot everything but the stunning man right in front of him. He had imagined what was under those EMT uniforms every time he saw Miguel at work. Here at the pool, most of what he imagined was on full display… and it was quite clear that Rosco’s imagination was definitely wanting.
“She definitely is,” Rosco said like any proud parent. “Posey is as smart as a tack and keeps my parents on the ball.”
“Is she your niece?” Miguel asked.
Rosco paused as she ran over and took his hand. “Daddy, come in the water with me.” She tugged him away, and Rosco glanced back just in time to catch Miguel’s confused expression, or maybe it was disappointment.
