Alden has always liked a challenge, and what could be more difficult than not one, but two stubborn boys?
Five years ago the military returned me home short one leg with scars covering one side of my body. I learned to live with it, I built a new life for myself, and I found a way to love the new body I was given… there’s just one thing I can’t accept.
I have no right to want someone as vibrant and beautiful as Nolan, not when a very vital part of my anatomy doesn’t want to work anymore. What use would a man like that be to him?
Alden can’t seem to stop meddling between the two of us, and I hate to admit it, but there’s something about him that manages to fix what’s broken in me.
Has anyone else ever developed a Daddy kink after getting blown to smithereens, or is it just me?
More importantly, are the three of us going to be able to find a way to fit together?
REVIEW:
Nolan and Gannon are best friends – who just happen to be secretly in love with each other. Gannon is a former army guy who lost a leg while deployed. He lost his leg and his career and works for a trio of billionaires at their foundation. One of his best friends is Nolan, an event planner that he met through his job. They spend the majority of their free time together and are very comfortable with each other. But Gannon has a little problem – well more than little really. He’s got ED and he’s not had any luck in finding a solution. He doesn’t think he can be the man that Nolan needs and deserves.
Nolan came from a very poor background. He’s busted his ass to be a success. He’s a micromanager and he takes on a lot. But his friendship with Gannon is his safe place. Unfortunately he’s also in love with Gannon but he’s afraid to ruin their friendship. When he decided to go for it, Gannon balks and retreats. Gannon’s boss (well one of them), Alden, sees this and comforts Nolan. They start sort of a different level of friendsbip.
Unbeknownst to either Nolan and Gannon, Alden is also in love with Gannon. But he’s his employee. And he also needs a boy and he’s not sure Gannon would go for that. As he gets closer to both men, it’s clear that Nolan and Gannon belong together which Alden does his best to facilitate. But what about Alden? Where does he fit? Can the three of them find a way to make things work? Where there’s a will there’s a way 😉
This audio was a real pleasure! I loved having three distinct narrators for our three MCs. The team of Liam DiCosimo and Tim Paige are a favorite from the Four Bears Construction series by this author and the addition of Wayne Carter was perfect. This was my favorite story in this series. I don’t know if it’s because I just really liked Nolan and Gannon and the way they have kept their feelings for each other hidden or whether it’s seeing Alden finally get to be happy too, but it totally worked for me on every level. Nolan’s resistance to anything that feels like control or lack of agency since he’s fought so hard to get where he is and to hide his less than ideal childhood was totally believable. Gannon’s issues with his ED were handled sensitively and with a great deal of love and support. The reluctance of both Gannon and Nolan to engage in the role of “boy” to Alden’s “daddy” I thought was really well done. Men who are used to being in charge and taking care of everything giving themselves the permission to be taken care of was beautifully written. I will confess that daddy kink generally is not my thing, but one of the best things about this series is the illustration that like many other things in life, it’s not a one size fits all. Each of these stories has portrayed a different level and dynamic between the couples/throuple. I cannot recommend this book more highly. The story, the narrators, the performances were just spot on. Highly recommended for those who like a little bit of complication with their romances.
