Though he hates the slur, Andras is used to being called Mongrel. When Bowie refuses to refer to him by anything but his given name, Andras can’t help a flicker of unexpected trust toward the stranger. He volunteers to help Bowie, risking banishment.
Can two tenderhearted men overcome their traumatic pasts and work together to rescue the girls before it’s too late? Or will the world’s most prolific killer snuff the flames of their passion along with the lives of the captives?
***
This steamy love story spans the country of Hungary as Andras and Bowie journey through cities and wilderness on their quest to right a villain’s wicked wrongs. Mongrel features a sweetly possessive werewolf, a cinnamon roll of a vampire, and the worst killer in history. A surprisingly fluffy MM Paranormal/Historical Romance considering the subject matter.
HEA guaranteed with loads of laughs along the way and no cliffhanger ending!
REVIEW:
Andras has never met anyone like Bowie. The only person who treats him like he matters is the old lady who adopted him, until Bowie walks onto pack land looking for a tracker…their best tracker. And no one tracks like Andras.
Bowie was captivated by Andras from the very start. There’s an innocence about Andras that Bowie can’t resist, no matter how much of an attitude the shifter tries to put on.
This story was so much fun to read. I love how Bowie doesn’t ever bother to try and hide his attraction to Andras. And watching Andras blossom under Bowie’s adoring attention is so sweet!
The adventure these two men undertake is important and scary, but they manage to have some fun along the way. I loved how they stood up for each other when it was most needed. The kick ass action is pretty awesome too.
One of the important things that Bowie brings to Andras life is a sense of family. He shares his sister and brother-in-law and neice with Andras and show’s him that he’s worthy of being a part of his family.
The author does a great job of creating a fantastic world with hints of reality for her characters to play in. I love when a book can teach me something while keeping me entertained. We get to meet some very interesting supernatural people and from what I gather, the author has several more books that take place in this universe so I think I will be looking to read those as well.
I love being swept along by a story and finding one that won’t let me put it down is rare enough these days. This one had me hooked from the get-go and brought together so many of my favorite things…shifters and vampires and all the little things that go bump in the night. Put that together with some really wonderful storytelling and you have something that’s pretty close to my favorite of the year.
I’m finding historicals and historical AU’s to be the thing that keeps me interested at the moment and this one is very well done.
I hope you have as much fun on your journey as I did on mine.
