BLURB:
Sasha Michaels is a psychic with an affinity for houses. And he’s homeless. Go figure. After months of sleeping rough, he stumbles upon an abandoned house, and the lonely place beckons him inside. He’s finally safe . . . until someone comes blundering in to his hideaway.
House-flipper Nick Cooper lost everything in the recession. Desperate to revive his business, he turns to a loan shark to fund his comeback project: flipping an abandoned house full of potential. But it turns out the house has an unexpected occupant.
Nick and Sasha make a deal: Sasha can stay in exchange for helping with the renovation. To both of their surprise, the closer they get to the loan shark’s due date, the stronger their feelings for each other grow. Problem is, Nick isn’t the only one with feelings for Sasha, and now the house doesn’t want to let Sasha go.
REVIEW:
I’d pretty much despaired of finding a free book to review this week. My third attempt to find treasure amongst the choices in my freebie pile was yet another strike. But on Wednesday, I discovered that this was on offer. It’s available as a free Kindle book on Amazon for a short time.
This book (in its audio-form) was reviewed by Annika back in February of 2020.
I’ve NOT had time to finish it but it’s been on my “want to read” list for a while now. The idea of a house psychic and a house-flipper kind of sold me on this one. With its paranormal bent it would have been an ideal one to feature closer to Halloween, but I doubt that it will be on free offer for more than a few days.
I did grab it, and read the first few chapters and so far it’s free from the kinds of things that sent me running from this week’s first three strikes. The idea that Bi house flipper Nick gets paired with an open;y gay homeless house psychic sounds just unique enough to be fun.
So, if you have room in your schedule and are bored (or is that room & board?) this weekend, you might want to grab this one while it’s free. I can’t really rate this one for myself right now so I’ll trust my fellow Love Bytes reviewer and use her rating here.
Finally, for any laggards among us… I noticed that has Amazon has this in its “One and Done” lending program, so if you’re too late in acting on this and still want to read it, surf over to GoodReads. Join their M/M Romance group. Post a request in their Lending Center. Some kind soul who has this might just shoot you an invite to borrow it free. Most of the books I’ve reviewed that were on short term offer are available (to borrow) that way.
