BLURB:
Atticus Mulvaney is the eldest son of eccentric billionaire, Thomas Mulvaney—a role he takes very seriously. Atticus takes everything seriously. Like his brothers, Atticus is a psychopath, raised to right the wrongs of a broken justice system. Unlike his brothers, he’s not very good at it.
Jericho Navarro is no psychopath, but he is a vicious killer. Like Atticus, he also has a secret life. To most, he’s just a mechanic. But to a ragtag group of social misfits, he’s Peter Pan, teaching them to eliminate those who prey on the weak with extreme prejudice.
When Atticus and Jericho come face to face over a shared enemy, their accidental meeting ends in an explosively hot hookup neither can forget. But they have nothing in common. Atticus is a buttoned-up closeted scientist and Jericho is a man on a mission, determined to find and punish those responsible for the death of his sister. Still, Jericho can’t stay away. And, truthfully, Atticus doesn’t want him to.
As Jericho’s mission begins to bleed into Atticus’s life, two separate but equally brutal families will need to learn how to fight together to take out a common enemy. But no amount of brute force can show Jericho how to scale the walls of a psychopath’s heart. Can Jericho convince Atticus that, sometimes, the couple who kills together stays together?
REVIEW:
It starts already great, at a crime scene, where Jericho and Atticus meet for the first time. Jericho tortures a guy and Atticus watches and observes him. They are instantly attracted to each other.
Atticus is the oldest adopted son of Thomas Mulvaney, a billionaire, with influential connections everywhere, all Thomas’s sons are psychopaths, on purpose.
Jericho is a mechanic, taking care of his younger brother Felix. They’re trying to find the murderer of their sister.
Both Jericho and Atticus are killers, both want to put down the scum of the earth.
Atticus is a psychopath, Jericho stirs something inside him, feelings he doesn’t understand.
Jericho is smitten by Atticus, the man is submissive af, Atticus loves his bossiness.
Atticus has a connection and wants to help Jericho. Atticus’s father and brothers are all in to help.
Jericho has some connection of his own and together they try to dismantle a network of scums.
Besides watching them unravel a network we can enjoy their blooming, explosive, scorching relationship. Yes, they are hot!
I have no knowledge of psychopaths, but I didn’t feel them this way. Not that I minded it one bit. I loved the rough attitudes, with as counterbalance some sweet and caring acts.
The plot is quite intriguing, complicated, and intelligently put together!
The killings were harsh and bloody, the killer’s behavior during it is greatly done, all well pictured, every move was palpable. The hot encounters between Atticus and Jericho are even more palpable!
I expected, and even hoped for, a somewhat darker, more depraving story, there are bloody passages but mostly it was kind of mild and sweet. No complaints about it.
The story is captivating af, smoothly paced, enjoyable to read, and has an HEA
This is the third story, my first, of this series about the eccentric billionaire Thomas Mulvaney and his sons, each story is about one of them. I hope there will be a story about Avi and Felix.
