A New Adventure Begins! And I am excited about this new series from the amazing author Ms. Jocelynn Drake.

 

This series will consist of six books. It will tell us the story of Prince Caelan Talos of Erya. Prince Caelan is the heir to the throne of Erya, being ruled by Queen Amara, his mother. At the start of the story, we see Caelan with his best friend, Drayce, bodyguard, Eno in a bar trying to be inconspicuous while also trying to have a brief respite from day to day princely duties. And then when things start to get interesting, Rayne, Caelan’s Advisor, arrived to tell him that the Queen wants to see him. And so it begins.

 

When Caelan was told to travel to a neighboring country to meet with their Queen, as it was requested, he didn’t have much time to prepare much less argue with his mother as to why must it be him when they have a lot of high-ranking diplomats they could send in his stead. But the Queen was adamant that it must be him. With his three companions, Drayce, Eno and Rayne, they set off for Caspagir a few hours later, aboard a train.

 

Things started to get challenging (an understatement) when a landslide happened while they were on the train and they were forced to walked the rest of the way instead. That’s not even the challenging part yet. They have to go through Ordas, a densely and scary (as tales were told) forest as it is the most direct path to the next country. They have heard stories of people going into Ordas and never coming out. But ultimately, they did go though, just to face other forms of challenges.

 

Along the way, dormant feelings start to wake up again with all four of them constantly being in each others’ space. Caelan has always love his best friend, Drayce, ever since they met in school. They have been best friends since. He loves him but at the risk of losing his friendship, he will not do anything about it. But being close to him physically, on this trip, is starting to get to him. He starts to hope and dream. But it has to be put on hold for now. Because after coming out of the Ordas, he found out a devastating news that brought him down to his knees.

 

Eno and Rayne have been with Caelan for many years, they respect each other’s abilities but more than that they are secretly attracted to each other. As Caelan’s bodyguard, it is Eno’s duty to protect Caelan from any harm, even at the risk of putting his own life on the line. Rayne is Caelan’s Advisor, a lifelong dream that finally came true a few years back. He is a trusted Advisor of a royal member of the family. They have been flirting with each other (unknowingly maybe?) for so many years now that when things start to unravel during this trip, they found themselves turning to each other for comfort and talks, and their hidden feelings start to come out.

 

A really amazing start to a new series. I love the storyline, I love the friendship, I love the secrets and the mysteries surrounding the Godstones. I love Caelan’s sharp mind and courage, Eno’s loyalty and bravery, Drayce’s sunny disposition and his willingness to be with his best friend through good and really bad times and Rayne’s unrelenting support and guidance for Caelan, his cool and sharp mind making order out of the chaos that they are facing.

 

Ms. Jocelynn Drake, you did it again! You have created another universe that is binge-worthy. I am literally counting the days for the release of Breath of Life, book two of the Godstone Saga.
