Nao stared out the window like he always did. Aki didn’t even have a phone to kill time as they drove through the city. Then Nao reached across the empty middle seat and held out his hand. Aki took it in his and interlaced their fingers. Perhaps there were some benefits to sitting in the back, but Aki could think of a lot more exciting things to do than simply hold hands.
Aki scooted across the leather seat until their legs touched. He tucked Nao’s hair behind his ear and kissed the side of his neck before giving it a good nibble.
Nao jerked away.
Giving the Kyoto godfather a hickey probably wasn’t a good idea, but his wide eyes looked more surprised than annoyed. Nao’s hands found their way into Aki’s hair, pulling him into a deep kiss. They might not be having sex, but the kiss promised that when they did, it would be amazing.
Aki had to steal breaths between the tangling of tongues and lips, and even then, he grew lightheaded. He ignored the feeling and kneaded Nao’s nipple through the thin cotton fabric of his yukata. A little moan escaped his mouth, encouraging Aki further. His hand slipped inside the yukata, and Aki pressed his hand against Nao’s warm skin.
“Maybe we should get a privacy window installed back there so you two can really enjoy yourselves.” Hayato looked at them in the rearview mirror and gave a cheeky wink.
Knowing Hayato, he’d enjoy watching.
Nao broke the kiss and pressed his hand against Aki’s, keeping him from teasing his nipple.
“It’s nice to have Aki beside me instead of driving,” Nao said.
“I like it too. Maybe I’ll let Hayato keep driving even after our vacation ends,” Aki added.
Hayato laughed. “Until Subaru comes back from his honeymoon, and then all three of you will be squished back there.”
Subaru was Hayato’s twin brother and Nao’s second bodyguard. Rule follower was too casual a description for Subaru’s rigidity. He would never allow Nao to be in the backseat without a guard. Lucky for them, he wouldn’t be back until June.
“We’ll need a bigger car,” Aki said. “We can trade this one in for a Lexus RX 350. They look good and have lots of room.”
Nao shook his head. “No foreign cars.”
“They’re owned by Toyota.”
“With a name like that, it’s like they’re not proud to be a Japanese company.”
Hayato glanced back to them. “Not to mention an SUV would be impossible on some of the narrow streets.”
“It’s possible. You need to be a better driver.”
The car discussion came to an end when Hayato pulled up to the gym. He came around to opened Nao’s door, but Nao stayed inside and gave Aki’s hand a tight squeeze.
“We need to talk for a second,” Nao said.
Aki pushed up his glasses. “Are you mad I kissed you in the car?”
“When we’re outside the home and around family, it would be best if you called me by my formal title.” Nao’s tone sounded more regretful than firm.
