Lovers separated in death. A family terrorized for generations. Can Jude and Cope solve the mystery before it drags them under?
Cope, already plagued by dreams of a watery death aboard the Titanic, is asked to help a haunted family in Nova Scotia. The Bennett’s assisted in the recovery efforts following the Titanic disaster more than a century ago and have been tormented by an angry spirit ever since. Taking the job would mean travelling, and Cope doesn’t want to miss a moment with his husband and son.
Countless families were destroyed, loved ones gone forever when the Titanic sank. Tierney O’Rourke lost his lover Rian Shaughnessy in the disaster, but when he dies many years later, his spirit is devastated to still be alone. When he asks Jude to help him find his lover’s ghost so they can at last be at peace, it’s clear fate wants both investigators working the White Star Line tragedy.
If they fail, the Bennett’s will shatter under the strain of the century-long haunting. And if Jude and Cope can’t help Tierney and his true love reunite, what hope do they have for an eternity together of their own?
Ghost Ship is the tenth book in the thrilling Haunted Souls series. Jude and Cope will suck you in with their amazing mysteries and love that fills your soul. Come back to the folks at West Side Magick today!
REVIEW:
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Pandora Pine keeps bringing her “A” game for this series. I love how creative she gets. In this story she incorporates real-life events as the backdrop of a two-pronged story-that may or may not become intertwined.
April 15, 1912 – on board the RMS Titanic, over 1500 people perished. Those that survived, went on with their lives – Some hoping to be reunited with their lost loved ones in death.
With this backdrop-we find a couple on board ship that are seeking a better life in America and become victims of the ship sinking. Same sex relationships were not highly thought of during this time- but Pandora gives life to a fictional couple Tierney and Rian, who just happen to be traveling on the RMS Titanic. After losing Rian in the sinking Tierney lives life – looking toward the day he will be reunited with Rian in the afterlife. And thus, begins part of the mystery in Ghost Ship.
Jude and Copeland continue to navigate marriage, family and ghosts. But sometimes that’s hard to do when ghosts get tenacious and want answers immediately. As if one mystery isn’t enough, Ms. Pine throws in a second mystery, for fun. What are the odds a ghost is haunting a family that was involved in RMS Titanic rescue efforts? What are the odds that ghost could reunite a couple separated by tragedy?
Her world building is so good. Melding the past with the present day to solve this paranormal mystery. With each new book in this series, she adds another layer of depth to not only the main characters, but her regularly appearing side characters. I like to call them the Scooby gang. Some of whom make an appearance in this story. She explores the struggle new parents experience when they have a young child at home and have to go away for a job. But the support system Jude and Copeland have is wonderful and always willing to step up and help.
With this story, I think Pandora Pine has out done herself. I look forward to next book in this series.
