Note:  This is the second book in this series and it does not work as a Standalone.  You need to read Twisted Pretty Things first 😉

This book picked up immediately from where Twisted Pretty Things ends.  Dom is struggling and it affects his test for latents. And other latents are being murdered which put the focus on some of Dom’s past – which had left behind.  Sadly, Dom and his sanity take a hit 🙁  More of Dom’s past is revealed here.  We understand and empathasize/sympathize with him a bit more and gain insight into his motivations.

In this story, we also gain a lot more information about  Kempthorne and his character. The tension between Dom and Alex is more definitely present in this book.  This story also provides more information about Alex’s power and why others are gunning for him.  Dom is still unsure about his attractions and relationships with both Kempthorne and Hollywood though.

Wow is all I can say.  The world building is still on point here.  There is more information shared about latents, but there are still a lot of unanswered questions as well – I suppose we will get them in the final book? The mysterious M is sill moving the pieces around and our guys are working hard to solve this.  But  Also if your hoping that things are wrapped up neatly, then you’re sure to be disappointed here.  This series just gets more engrossing and entertaining and intriguing!  I was kind of on the edge of my seat for a lot of this installment.  Honestly I’m DYING for the final book in this series 😀   If you’re looking for an exciting and heart-pounding action packed series with just the right amount of tender, this may be the book for you.  Highly recommended – one of the most interesting urban fantasies I’ve read in a while.
