Passion, that’s what Dom had, passion for pole dancing, and nothing would stop him following his dream
But a call in the middle of the night, had him running home, leaving the life he loved. His brother needed him and to Dom, family was always important.
So here he was, back where it all began and where it had all ended.
A chance meeting, a reconnection with the one he thought he’d lost forever.
Dom been sent to tempt him that was for sure and Jacob didn’t think this was ever going to be enough for him, he needed and wanted it all from him again. Tears pricked Jacob’s eyes as he remembered how he’d almost lost Dom, had almost had to live his life without him.
Yes, he wanted everything, his mind, his soul and most importantly his heart. He just hoped he was willing to give it
Poles Apart is the second in the Nava Dance Studios series and whilst it can be read as a standalone, it would be advantageous to read book one, Dance With Me, first.
This is a story of second chances, lost loves and reconnection. A story that will warm your heart and is guaranteed to leave you smiling. Trigger warnings: homophobia and attempted sexual assault
Jacob rested his forehead against Dom’s. “I wish we could have had longer tonight. I don’t want to rush or push you, but I think we have something here.” He dropped a quick kiss to his hair, wrapping his arms tightly around him, bringing him into his chest. “I’ll miss you this weekend. I know that might seem needy or whatever you want to call it, but I will.”
Dom looked up at him; a small smile played on his lips.
“I’ll miss you too, you know. I look forward to the time we spend together and tonight was beautiful. It was romantic, special, and as much as I love sex with you, it was nice to talk and relax together, just us.”
Jacob thought Dom looked a little hesitant, though, so he was quick to reassure him. He ran his hand through Dom’s hair.
“I loved it too. Spending time with you is quickly becoming my favourite pastime. I didn’t want to tell you that yet. I don’t want to scare you away, Dom. I lost you once before. I don’t want to have to go through that again.” He hoped he sounded sincere, that he was able to put his feelings into words.
“I don’t want to want you as much as I do.” Dom looked away, refusing to meet his eyes. “I swore to myself when I met you again that I wouldn’t get involved. I wouldn’t put my heart on the line again. It wrecked me when you went away, Jacob. I was a mess for months.
“But somehow, with your words, your kisses and the way you are, you’ve made me see that this, this thing between us, is real. That I do want you, Jacob Greyson. In any way you can give me.”
Jacob’s heart soared hearing these words, and he couldn’t help hugging him that little bit tighter until Dom started to wheeze.
“Fuck, Jacob. You’re crushing me,” Dom squeaked.
“Sorry, sorry. I got carried away there for a minute. I have to go though, finish packing for tomorrow. I’m sorry we don’t get to see each other this weekend, but maybe I could call you?”
“I’d like that. Now kiss me like you won’t see me for three days, my little toastie boy.”
