Reed Conifer has been trying to work his way up in the dog eat dog world of a Valleywood talent broker for a long while, but he’s starting to wonder if he’ll ever be anything than the Lane agency errand boy. He gets the coffee and keeps the schedule, but he’s just an ordinary bear shifter from Colorado who could stand to lose a few pounds. His co-workers call him “Teddy”, and he’s not sure he’s cutthroat enough to be promoted to junior agent.
When he gets coffee from a new shop one day, though, Reed meets grizzly shifter Tyler Ronson, who not only thinks Reed is adorable, he’s pretty sure Reed is his mate. Even though he’s only in Valleywood to open a new Rocky Mountain Java, Tyler wants to make Reed feel better, to help him feel loved and cared for. When it comes time for Tyler to leave Valleywood, he knows he has to convince Reed to come with him.
Reed doesn’t know if he can give up his dream of making it big, the one he’s worked so long to find, but he knows Tyler is the man for him, so he has to decide: should he stay in Valleywood and keep his old hopes alive or go back to Colorado with the love of his life? Bear shifter mpreg with a happy ending!
REVIEW:
Nestled on the shores of Lake Erie, Pennsylvania, there is a major city that no one has ever heard of. Valleywood is home to some of the richest and most powerful magical beings in the country. It’s a hub of commerce, entertainment, and finance in the supernatural world. Unlike the quaint and picturesque Vale Valley to the south, Valleywood is a loud and vibrant city–and they have the seedy underbelly to go with it.”
Reed Conifer is a Black Bear shifter at Lane Talent Agency in Valleywood. He aspires to become a talent broker however he still remains a glorified errand boy although titled Personal Assistant to the boss, James Lane. While going on yet another errand to get coffee he’s sent to the new place on the block, Rocky Mountain Java, that immediately reminds him of home back in Colorado. When a gorgeous man comes around with complimentary honeybuns his first instinct is to politely refuse. He has been teased about his body at work and is trying to get thinner but it’s hard with a black bear physique. Tyler Ronson, one of the owners of the Colorado-based coffee chain, sees something he likes and wants in the sweet man. And he’s going to get him. His grizzly bear knows that smell and that it belongs to him. Now he just needs to figure out how to get him and make him his!
This was a sweet read with all the warm fuzzies. Reed was adorable. He was too good for Lane Agency and they were working him too the bone. Something had to give and Tyler was the one to help give him the nudge he needed. I felt bad that he worked so hard to fit in but his true body wasn’t made to be svelte. He was a small black bear shifter and no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t alter himself. I loved that Tyler not only adored him but made him feel desirable and more comfortable in his body.
The book really took off for me when Tyler and Reed went back home to Colorado. Reed was loved the moment he arrived. And he was shown how valuable his talents really were immediately. He was greatly undervalued back in Valleywood and he shined working at the family corporate offices.
Each of the Valleywood series books is by a different author. I really enjoyed this one and have heard there is a sequel for Tyler and Reed. I can’t wait to read it too!
