Will Corbin be able to track down his mystery man and find out if love waits for him behind door number two?
Door Number Two is a 16,000-word short story featuring mistaken identity, misplaced costume props, a merman tattoo, and a meddling sister. While it is book #1.5 in the Open Doors series, it can be read as a standalone.
REVIEW:
Note: This is a short story from the series Open Doors and takes place along a similar timeline of Sliding Doors, the first book in the series. This can be read as a standalone.
Corbin has moved to California for his job when his magazine is acquired. He’s been enjoying the change, but he doesn’t have a lot of friends yet. He’s made friends with some of his coworkers, but he really hasn’t been dating much. When one of his coworkers wants to introduce him to her brother who has returned from the military, he’s reluctant but agrees. But first, he has a Halloween party to attend.
Corbin has agreed to meet a guy he’s only talked to via a dating app. He’s not super excited about this guy – he kind of seems like a bit of an asshat. But he does want to get out and meet people. They haven’t never seen each other in person, but they share their costume choices for the party. So he heads to the party and he’s super surprised at how much he likes the Captain America he meets. Like they really hit it off 😉 But when another Captain America shows up later at the party, Corbin realizes things are not as they appeared 😮
This was adorable! I loved both MCs. They were so cute and it’s clear they connect right away. I thoroughly enjoyed the mistaken identity tropes and the cute way they ended up reconnecting. I loved the writer’s style in both this story and the first book in the series. I’m eagerly waiting the next book to be honest 😉 A completely fun and enjoyable episode – perfect way to enjoy a half hour when you have the time. Great timing with Halloween coming up too! Highly recommended for fans of cute, sweet and hot short stories 😀
