BLURB:
I wasn’t the president of the Devil’s Rage MC when I fell in love with Calix Durante.
Hell, I was barely a prospect. Him being the Iron Heretics President should have kept us apart, but it didn’t. We kept our affair a secret for years before he called it off. Only, while I was falling in love with him, he never let me get closer than arm’s length.
Now, we’re still bikers, both presidents, and he’s keeping me a lot further away than arm’s length these days. A truce between our clubs has fixed me in his orbit, but I’d have never guessed it would take another man to bridge the divide between us.
Neven is beautiful, shy, and possesses an unknown allure that has Calix wrapped around his finger. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous. Of course, I’d also be lying if I said I wasn’t wrapped right around his finger too.
REVIEW:
Writing an MMM romance takes skill to totally pull it off because it needs to have all the qualities needed and more than a regular MM love story. You have to think of how the dynamic will work between your three main characters. I have read quite a few MMM romance over the few years I have been reading this genre and I must say that this is one of the best I have encountered. I fell in love with all three MCs, even if one of them is grumpy and growly.
Calix and Holden are Presidents of what used to be rival motorcycle clubs but over the years since they took over the leadership, they have come to a truce that not only benefits one club but both of them. The Iron Heretics, led by Calix, has been on their path of legitimacy since way before Holden’s leadership took effect and he decided himself that that’s what he has always wanted for his club too. But before all these, Calix and Holden have had an on and off again relationship or hook-up, and when Holden wanted to bring things further, Calix just stopped it all, no hook-ups and Calix even went as far as to avoid being with Holden at all. Well, except during club meetings and business transactions.
Neven just started at Spritz, serving drinks to its numerous patrons. He caught the eye of Calix first when Calix saw him at the club one night. Calix wanted him and wanted to take him out on a date. Calix realized his mistake when he stopped whatever he had with Holden, he’d make different decisions if given the chance. He doesn’t want to make the same mistake with Neven, He wants Neven, and he will actively pursue it this time.
Holden met Neven when he had to save the young man from being physically assaulted on the floor of the club one night. He doesn’t know what it is but the pull of the young man on Holden is quite strong. When Calix appeared after the incident, it broke whatever “hold” Calix had on his and Holden’s relationship. It was so natural for them both to want to protect the young man and there was no jealousy in it. And it made them both realized that it is what they both want. But they need to resolve some past issues, not between them actually, but those among past leaders who don’t want the motorcycle club to go a new and legal path.
It is so great to be able to read a really awesomely-written book with not only two main characters but three beautiful characters who equally brought significance into the story. Dissent is one of these. I am an avid lover of great tales of love that flows naturally even if there are complications and a certain level of angst involved. Congratulations Ms. Frost, I love this book and I am sure that for those readers who are into motorcycle clubs and big, growly, grumpy main characters who become sweet and attentive to young and traumatize men, you will totally get what you’re looking for from this.
