Big Bet. Big Trouble. Big Love.
When Felix the Quiz Bowl Champion reveals other oversized assets besides his brain, it takes PJ, the super-wheeler-dealer, to wangle maximum profits from it—in bets, wet jock strap contests, and Wang of the Week.
But winning money turns out to be second to falling in lust, and sexual escapades replace time at the poker tables as the number-one activity of their wicked week in Vegas.
Still, accepting the hospitality of PJ’s father’s client, the mobster Joey Oretano, proves a nearly fatal money-saving scheme, and brings Felix and PJ face-to-face with the serious side of life.
Very. Serious.
Will someone take the chance to be a hero?
Or will someone wind up dead?
BETTING ON HIS BF is a friends-to-lovers, bisexual awakening, what-happens-in-Vegas-can-win-you-money, dash-of-suspense, MM romance—with large assets.
REVIEW:
This was quite a fun and unexpected fourth book in the series.
Felix, the Quiz Bowl genius and PJ, the water polo jock that had got assigned to their team, have become good friends through all their interactions. They decide to drive to Las Vegas to have a bit of fun when the summer starts. Little did they know where their adventure would lead them.
Felix was one of the SMT nerds. He was one of the younger brothers but a whiz in Quiz Bowl. He was also, though very small in statue, hiding a huge asset under his black leather jacket that drew attention from all the female coeds but usually only for a brief time. PJ was the second person sent from the ALA house to compete in the Quiz Bowl’s second team. The two bonded and eventually became good friends when Felix joined PJ in the betting that occurred over the two houses forced interactions.
I absolutely love PJ’s spunk and always finding a way around most things.
- Trouble with a lunch bill that was a bit deceptive…bet the restaurant owner that his tiny friend was more endowed than the huge guy.
- Need a place to stay in Vegas…hit up his Dad’s business associate.
- Need money to play…convince his meek, shy friend to enter in a wet jock contest that he’s was guaranteed to win.
But when things turn scary and dangerous Felix proves that he isn’t just a casual friend but a true friend that will go to all extremes to save his friend he’s falling for. Even when said friends are a couple of self absorbed jerks.
I must say that Dusty Rose, the Drag Queen and bar owner, was my favorite side character. She saw what was obvious to everyone except PJ and Felix. I think she even figured out what was up when she helped Felix.
As I stated, I wasn’t expecting PJ and Felix’s story as I had gathered that the trilogy had already ended but I’m glad that those boys wouldn’t let it slide by. It was nice to also get a glimpse of our other three couples from the series in the epilogue and hear how they were getting along too.
This was a nice, fun romp, with a bit of danger, to end this series.
