REVIEW:
This was a new kind of book/trope for me. I haven’t had much exposure to Motorcycle Clubs books but I love Gianni’s writing so I gave it a try.
Miles works for Mort at the crematorium as the frond desk guy. Rubble is the huge guy that Grimm assigned to Miles after Angel was killed. When Puddu is taken care of his services of protection are no longer needed. But what if Rubble isn’t done with Miles yet?
I will say this right out front. I haven’t read the previous books in the series. I did read the prequel short first so I had a little background on Miles, Rubble and Mort and that helped but I think it would have been easier to understand the dynamics of the boys and their fierce daddies if I’d read their stories first. A situation I plan to rectify soon.
I won’t say that I’m a newly converted Motorcycle Club book fan but I do like that there is the Daddy/boy dynamic and these big, strong, scary dudes are all about protecting and taking care of their precious boys. And who does love the boys from “Reaper boys-only club”? I know I need all their stories like yesterday!
I will also admit that there is more than a fair share of violence like I suspected/feared their would be but it wasn’t as graphic as I feared. Surprisingly I expected more out of the motorcycle guys but it was Mile’s tormenter and his gang of thugs that were the worse.
I am actually more than surprised at how much I like this story and these men. I was prepared to not like it because I thought it would be all gory and brutal but I actually couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Yes, the is brutal and gory but it wasn’t the heart of the story. The heart was the boys and their protective daddies.
