Bel’s War, Book 1
The old covenant of the gods is broken. Will the world break, too?
When an army of vampires invades their home, Rio and Turi must fight for their future while the fate of an empire hangs in the balance.
The exiled son of an emperor, bitten and infected with the night-curse, seals himself into a tomb for eternity only to be awakened eight hundred years later by an awkward and anxious priest who needs his help saving their people. The healer Rio, a priest of Astara, is lost in grief and rage when war comes to Trosika. Yet he is drawn to the enigmatic vampire prince, pulled by a love that stretches across lifetimes. Can Philip help him save his religion from extinction?
A blind old woman gives Turi bones containing three spirit familiars. As the world around him falls apart, he must learn to accept himself and master his newfound necromancy in time to save his friends, his people, and his island.
How can they survive, when not even their patron goddess could stop the forces arrayed against them?
Descent of Ravens is an exciting new fantasy with LGBTQ+ characters and relationships, rich world-building, and dark adventure!

Just then, the sound of pounding footsteps on the stairs reverberated through the crypt. Their time was up. The first soldier burst through the gate, ignoring the still-glowing markings on the floor as he dove blade-first at Rio.
Turi’s wolf, Ulla, appeared out of nowhere, tackling the soldier sideways just as two more came through the gate. More could be heard on the stairs behind them.
Harlow and the other wolf both joined Ulla, sucking the heat out of the room until the crypt was as cold as death. The first soldier cursed, scrambling back away from the ghostly white wolves while another pulled him to his feet. For the moment, the ghosts were between them and the soldiers, and it was buying them a moment to think.
“Get them down that hole!” Rio shouted at Shon, who was already dragging Fran toward the opening while Demari crossed to stand stonily next to Turi, ready to throw his body between Turi and any soldier’s blade.
“Demari, take Turi!”
Turi’s eyes were white, and Rio wasn’t certain that Turi could see while he was channeling. Demari was guiding him, and Turi was clutching Demari’s arm tightly. The soldiers stopped their advance as more filed into the small crypt, waiting in front of Harlow and the wolves.
As Shon and Fran neared the opening to the tomb below, however, a dark figure emerged from the depths wearing a long, ragged cloak and tightly woven leather armor. The man had long, ebony hair framing a bronze Areshi face that was achingly beautiful until the fangs dropped and his eyes shifted unnaturally red.
The wards on the floor gave way before him as he walked forward, allowing him passage. This dark vampire from below walked past Shon, Demari, Turi, and Fran without a glance, his eyes fixated on Rio until he came to a stop in front of him.
“Marco,” he breathed, a faint whisper to Rio’s ears.
There was something familiar about his face that triggered a longing in Rio that unnerved him. This was a vampire, walking death. But for a split second, Rio welcomed death if it meant a moment close to this man.
The soldiers were frozen until finally one of them said, “The Archmage wants this lot dead. Kill them or stand aside, vampire.”
“I think not,” the stranger said, finally turning to look at the soldiers.
With a fluid motion that belied its violence, the dark vampire slid past the ghosts to decapitate the soldier in a moment and thrust his hand right into the chest of another. In seconds he had killed all the Ishima in the crypt and darted up the stairs like a phantom, where now Rio could hear more soldiers screaming.
