If two are better than one… then three is best!
Alpha couple Richard and Dusty may not fit the world’s sense of normal, but they have each other. As a graphic designer who works from home while his pilot husband is off flying the friendly skies, Dusty spends way too many hours alone. Hours spent longing for a family, the family that the orphaned alpha is sadly lacking.
Rich never wanted children, but after a decade with his husband, the alpha is ready to open his heart to a child. Even if children are sticky, dirty, and downright irritating, for the most part. Certainly his own child will be above all that. After all, isn’t it all just a matter of proper parenting?
Josiah isn’t in the market for an alpha. He just needs to stay in forward motion and keep his eye on the prize as he juggles two jobs to raise his little sister who became his charge when their parents died. She’s smart. Wicked smart. But her school is convinced she’s too challenged, that she’ll never be able to finish regular high school, let alone college, refusing to recognize she is brilliant though severely dyslexic. To get her the help she needs, Josiah needs money, and a lot of it.
Surrogacy seems his only option. He can’t imagine doing it for just anyone, though, and soon, Dusty and Richard become more than just the daddies of the baby he’s carrying…
This book is 80k of sweet heat as only Harper B. Cole and Susi Hawke can bring, but don’t worry, it’s not too… knotty
REVIEW:
Oh my goodness gracious! A sweet omega that’s raising his learning disabled little sister with not one but two swoon-worthy Alphas! Glory Be…I’m in heaven!
Josiah is doing everything in his power to give his baby sister the life she deserves after both their parents were killed in an automobile accident. He’s working himself to death to provide a roof over their heads and enough food to fill their bellies…barely. But now the final shoe has dropped. Samantha’s school wants to label her cognitive impaired. He knows this isn’t true but the Special Education department is literally bullying him to sign the false paperwork. But Josiah knows it’s not only a lie but that Sam is actually extremely smart except for her reading. With a little help from her art teacher, who agrees with Josiah behind the school’s back, he gets Samantha tested at Mapleville Academy, a school that specializes in helping kids achieve despite their disability, and discovers she is severely dialectic. The school is eager to accept Sam but their tuition is way over anything Josiah can earn unless he makes the supreme sacrifice and rents out his womb to another couple. Dusty and Richard are two married alphas who have decided to try surrogacy to make their family complete. The problem is two alphas together isn’t the “norm”. Surrogates balk at the couple until they discover the sweet young omega with the heart-wrenching backstory. But can this arrangement mutually benefit all parties?
This hit really close to home for me. Our middle son struggled in his first years of school with his reading. The problem is if a school gives a diagnosis then they are required to provide the services to help that student. Our son was “misdiagnosed” by the school administrators in an effort to cover their butts. His one teacher reminded me so much of Mrs. St. John. She contacted us discreetly and said she believed his problem was that he was severely dyslexic. When we went outside the school system, like Josiah did, we were able to get him the education he not only needed but deserved. Obviously the writers are well educated on this problem. Our journey with our son led me to becoming a special education educator. I learned to fight for the rights of students against administrators for their rightful education.
As many know, I’m a huge fan of polyamorous relationships and a newer fan of mpreg. I got all my boxes crossed off with this wonderful book:
- Struggling omega trying to do the right thing against all odds
- Loving married couple wanting to build a family
- Strong Alpha “Daddy”
I can’t wait to read more of this wonderful series. I absolutely adored Josiah, Dusty and Richard. I loved watching how they developed a relationship that tied them all together. And watching Dusty and Richard fall in love with Samatha was touching and perfect. I knew Dusty was a softie but watching Richard transform was even more special. I highly recommend this fabulous book!
