He was the best thing that ever happened to him…in the worst way.
West Balkany lived his life by one rule: make your own luck. And that means fighting his slum lord when his building starts falling apart, forcing himself to finish school no matter how much he wants to quit, and most importantly, never do something as stupid as falling in love.
Unfortunately, that last part isn’t so easy when his gorgeous one-night-stand who dragged him into a bar supply closet and made him see god, keeps turning up everywhere he goes.
But he doesn’t have time for Jake—no matter how much he wants to. His father’s health is failing, his deli is barely getting by, and now he’s facing a massive legal suit against Larsen Property Management for trying to kick everyone out into the streets. He also knows that Jake is hiding something, and he’s pretty sure whatever it is, it’s enough to turn his life upside down.
But Jake also makes him want to try, and that’s what scares him the most.
Jakob Larsen spent his life running from the man his father always wanted him to be, but that all comes to a stop when the man announced he was leaving LPM. He finally has a chance to prove to both his brother and to St. James that he can turn Larsen Property Management around and do something good for the people his father has been tormenting all these years.
The problem is, he’s just not quite sure how, when no one trusts him to do the right thing.
And it doesn’t help that Jakob has found himself distracted, falling for a gorgeous, stoic deli owner who has no idea who he really is. All Jakob has ever wanted was to be truly loved, but now that he’s found the one person he could see himself growing old with, he has to face the truth: everything they have is based on a lie.
Will he ever be a man worthy of forgiveness, or will he have to face the fact that everything he touches turns to dust?
All You Touch is the second book in the low-angst, humorous, steamy series, Love Starts Here. It contains no cheating, and a happily ever after.
REVIEW:
I loved the first book in this series ad couldn’t wait for this one! It definitely didn’t disappoint!
West Balkany owns the deli that Rhys loves and frequents often. Heck, he even bought the building so West would keep making his favorite sandwich that West’s great uncle Abraham created. All the kids growing up in St. James remembered Abraham and his infamous sugar cookies. But West may have the deli saved however Larson Property Management (LPM) is doing everything in its power to run the poorer people out of St. James including trying every trick in the book to force people to break their leases in the building he lives in. When West needs to blow off a little steam he has an explosive round of sex with a one-time only pickup in the back room of the bar. Little did he know that Jake was from St. James and they keep running into each other. Things heat up and one-time is definitely not enough for either man but can they keep going when Jake is hiding a huge secret that could decimate them both?
I have been looking forward to both West’s story and Jakob’s story after the last book. I just didn’t realize that they would wind up together. But they really did work together perfectly. I mean they definitely had rocky moments but they complimented each other’s needs and shortcomings so well.
Jakob really is the true poor little rich boy. Well both him and Henrik. Their father is such a disgusting piece of garbage that is a waste to humanity. The disservice he did to not only his two sons but the town of St. James will take a lifetime to undo. The only saving grace is that he will be gone soon and will be all alone for his final days.
And dear sweet, struggling West. Taking over his late great uncle’s dream, a man he has no recollection of, and doing so while struggling with his dyscalculia, had to be beyond taxing. Then add in going to college too and I don’t know how he carried on as long as he did.
I loved that both men had total faith in each other and saw their best. Yes, Jake lied through omission however even West admitted he wouldn’t have given him a chance if he knew who he truly was.
I can’t wait for the next book. I couldn’t figure out why Bianca and then Jakob talked about a child actor’s comeback and then scandal. I just don’t know who the retired professor is. I am hooked on this series and author!
